Description

Dingač is one of the most well-known Croatian wines. Its deep ruby red colour reflects the identity of the environment as well as the character of the people who live on Pelješac. Love is in the air – and in the glass. Pelješac is a 65 km long peninsula. And Ston is the biggest city at which you will have time to explore it and its ancient picturesque streets. Ston has been a salt production place since the times of Republic of Dubrovnik and it is surrounded by the great walls (second longest just after the Great Wall of China). If you decide to take a walk to the walls you will have to purchase a ticket that is not included in this tour. Many different families have been turning grapes into wine for decades there, perfecting the tastes and inventing new trends. Every single one of them has its own specification and taste. We show you the most exceptional flavors created by indigenous wine varieties on your favorite wine trip.

Not as advertised

My rate for this tour ended up being quite high, maybe because I was a solo traveler? The price was not worth it. I paid more, but the experience turned out to be exactly what other tours were advertising, but for a much lower price. The description led me to believe that there would be a focus on red wine, but it was just regular wine tasting. Our guide was very kind and knowledgeable and the owners of the two wineries we visited were amazing and very hospitable. The vehicle wasn’t in good shape at all - the door didn’t have a handle on the outside and you could clearly hear the vehicle had some serious mechanical issues. Again, not worth the money paid, but it was fine for what it was.

Great guide, but tour needs more wine stops

Did not understand why we stopped in Ston for a wine tour. Would rather have gone to one or two more wineries for tastings. Guide was wonderful!!! So engaging and funny.

Unique & Authentic

Best day in my trip to Croatia. Adam was great host. It was nice to get away from the crowds, have a unique experience, meet some locals, and see a bit more authentic Croatia.

Definitely a must when visiting Dubrovnikrovnik

We took two great trips with Deep Green Travel and would definitely recommend them if you are looking for personal experiences learning about Croatia, it’s history, the people and their customs. The Deep Red Wine Tour of Pelješac allowed us to learn about Croatian wines at two wineries with fantastic tastings. We loved the Marlais winery and took a couple of bottles, some sun dried cherry tomatoes and some cheese from there for our picnic the next day. We then went to a nearby bay and joined Captain Mario on his boat to sample fresh oysters that he pulled up from the sea for us. His wine was also very delicious. Our guide was fantastic and made sure we had an amazing experience.
