No way, money thrown out

Easy to discourage Our driver was an idiot thundering through the desert at more than 100 km/h and the village itself was to be ticked off in 20 minutes

Great Star Wars Tour at Tozeur / Nefta

The tour was very nice. I particularly liked that both drivers, especially my main driver Mustapha Naji (sky), respected my wishes and needs and drove very safely and carefully. I had as much time on the sets as I wanted and my drivers liked to take pictures of me for me. I felt safe and comfortable at all times. A lifetime dream has come true and I can highly recommend the tour. Seeing over 5 Star Wars locations in such a short time is awesome!

A journey in half

A journey in half Let me anticipate that this journey, journey, walk, traverse, odyssey, adventure, itinerary, excursion... was conceived and conceived with my heart for my daughter, born from Star Wars, forged by the Jedi and led by the Force. A heartfelt thanks to Karim of Saharansky, a reference and a certainty: that taking care of every detail made this experience memorable, entrusting me in the hands of Chekib Rassaa, who was my shadow for the next seven days. An excellent guide, expert, prepared and able to capture and share those feelings that you experience at certain times of the day. Thanks also to Sami, our driver, who accompanied us for about 2000 km through Tunisia, making us discover hidden corners of this wonderful country. Unfortunately, due to force majeure, I had to pick up this baton and live this experience in solitude, then trying not to leave anything in transferring to my daughter the emotions, feelings and stories. Even if half lived, this undoubtedly remains a beautiful journey, made of sensations, emotions, scents, flavors and memories of wonderful people met along the way. For me, an experience to repeat, a country to review exploring new places. For my daughter, a path to take following in my footsteps that the wind has only momentarily hidden. 6 Days – Private Tour of Star Wars Locations in Tunisia Itinerary Day 1: Tunis – El Jem – Tozeur Visit the imposing Roman amphitheatre of El Jem, the third largest and best preserved in the world, then continue to Tozeur. Stay at the Ksar Rouge Tozeur, a truly suggestive location. Day 2: Tozeur – Tamerza – Chebika – Mides – Sidi Bouhlel – Chott El Jerid – Nefta – Ong Jemel Exploration of the spectacular waterfalls of Chebika and Tamerza, the canyons of Mides and Sidi Bouhlel. A memorable desert excursion visiting Mos Espa: the shell racing arena, Watto’s shop and the streets of The Phantom Menace, on board a 4x4 off-road vehicle driven by Mostapha, an attentive, professional driver capable of making the journey into the desert authentic. At Ong Jemel (“the camel’s neck”), where Darth Maul frees the Sith probes and, finally, stops at Chott El Jerid, where the Lars family home stood. Day 3: Tozeur – Douz – Sahara Desert From the green palm trees of Tozeur to the golden dunes of Douz. Visit the lively souk and then a two-hour camel ride to the Sahara Camp Wad Erramal. A magical evening under the stars, between drums and authentic hospitality, with bread baked between sand and ash. At night, observing nothing outside my tent. Day 4: Douz – Matmata – Ksar Hadada – Ksar Ouled Soltane – Tataouine – Djerba Visit to Matmata with its iconic underground troglodyte houses. Stop at the Hotel Sidi Driss, the interior set of the Lars house in Una Nuova Speranza. Continue to Ksar Ouled Soltane (the slave barracks in The Phantom Menace) and Ksar Hadada (where Qui-Gon Jinn talks to Shmi Skywalker). Short stop in Tataouine, inspiration for the name of the planet Tatooine. Day 5: Djerba – Medenine – Tunis Visit to Medenine, another set of slave barracks where Anakin and Shmi lived. It continues with the exploration of the exterior of the Cellar of a New Hope, where the Millennium Falcon takes off from Mos Eisley. Visit the historic mosque used as the home of Obi-Wan Kenobi during his exile. Day 6: Carthage – Bardo Museum Visit the Bardo Museum, famous for Roman mosaics, Islamic ceramics and rare Phoenician finds. The stop in Carthage, destroyed by the Romans in 146 BC, is also a must, but its ruins reveal an ancient city with five-storey houses, sewer systems and remains of walls.

An unforgettable Star Wars tour with our amazing guide Mustafa!

What a fantastic experience this Star Wars tour was! The filming locations were breathtaking and it really felt like we were in the middle of the film ourselves. Our guide Mustafa made the day complete. He spoke excellent English and told with great passion and knowledge about the history of the places we visited. In addition, he pointed out the most beautiful places to take pictures – the photos in the middle of the desert have become truly unforgettable! What really touched us was how far he went to give us a beautiful experience. The tour was actually over, but because we were leaving the next day, Mustafa decided to take us to the canyon where the iconic pod races from Star Wars were recorded. He even did this while he had to postpone his iftar during Ramadan. Truly incredible how committed he was to us! A small minus: on the way we met a man in the desert who offered us a desert fox. That didn't feel right, because these beautiful animals should live freely in the wild. But that was absolutely not the fault of the organization or Mustafa. In short, this tour is an absolute must for any Star Wars fan – and that's especially thanks to our super guide Mustafa. Thank you for this unforgettable day!

Star Wars Location Tour by incredible guide Mustapha

Mustapha was my guide for my solo trip to see specific Star Wars locations in/around Tozeur. His Star Wars knowledge of these locations made my trip very memorable. The itinerary was comprehensive, Mos Espos, Camel Neck, Mides, Chott El Jerid (Lars Homestead) per the program. What sets Mustapha apart is that he took me to a little known location outside of Tozeur that was a panoramic view of a canyon used in the original New Hope film seeing it from two perspectives (top view and a 1km walk inside the canyon). It was difficult to get there by 4x4, but he knew how to navigate the roads. Amazing. My honest opinion is that if you would like an English friendly guide/driver who specializes in Star Wars, Mustapha is a must pick. His WhatsApp is +21628402923 and he is willing to answer any questions you have regarding potential Star Wars related ideas.

It was good, but could have been great

This was a good tour which could have been great, we had a 4x4 to ourselves. The driver spoke OK English and definitely was not a guide, which is a shame and that could have been the difference. Especially at the different sites to explain more and not push his friend's shop and cafe on us. The sites were fantastic and the off roading over the Sahara was an added bonus. I felt too much time was given to the first couple of sites and it would have been better to get to the Mos Espa and Lars Family set quicker, especially with the sun going down early due to it being autumn. The fact the salt flats were water logged was, of course, not the drivers fault. More light, however, would have allowed for better photos of the Lars Family exterior from the 4x4, as we had to stop about 400 metres away.

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback on the Half-Day Star Wars Film Set Locations Private Tour. We’re glad you enjoyed the stunning sites and the off-roading experience in the Sahara. We would like to clarify that it’s clearly indicated in the tour details that a guide is not included, as this is primarily a nature trip without historical explanations. For more in-depth insights at the sites, local guides are available on location and usually charge between 10 and 30 Tunisian dinars for their services. We appreciate your suggestions and will review the timing adjustments to improve the experience further. Thank you for choosing our tour, and we hope to welcome you again!

Unforgettable moment in Sahara

Very organized, and full of fun! The guide and the driver were nice too. We enjoyed from the beginning to the end. We know that if we reserve the tour after we get to Tozeur, there are cheaper options but it worth paying that amount. It was comfortable, well organized, no stress

Half Day Star Wars tour was great fun, but not long enough!

Was exciting to be driven in 4WD to 3 key Star Wars sites around Tozeur: the Lars homestead igloo on Chott el Djerid, Mos Espa (over-run with souvenir-sellers) & the 'Star Wars' canyon in Sidi Bouhlel, (plus a handful of other locations for 'English Patient' etc). A half day was all we had available, but would have liked more time at 'Star Wars' canyon as so many scenes from multiple films (including 'Raiders of the Lost Ark') were filmed there. Even though the tour description makes clear we are not provided with a 'guide', the driver knew the basics of these locations.

Very knowledgeable tour guide

Mustafa was a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. His family has been in the area for 4 generations so you couldn’t wish for a more knowledgeable guide. I not only had a great experience viewing the remarkable Star Wars sites, but made a friend. I plan on coming back next year
