Itinerary
Fort Granby is a small but charming historic site on Tobago’s southeast coast. Built around 1765, it was one of the island’s earliest British fortifications, originally protecting the former capital, Georgetown. While only limited remains of the fort survive today, the area is beautifully maintained and shaded by impressive, intertwined trees that create a calm, park-like atmosphere. Visitors can see the gravestone of British soldier James Clark (1772) and enjoy panoramic views over Barbados Bay and Pinfold Bay, making it a lovely spot for photos, a short break, or a picnic. Quiet, scenic, and easy to visit, Fort Granby is a pleasant stop for those interested in Tobago’s history and coastal landscapes.
This mountaintop fort mixes stunning ocean and city views with a dose of Tobago's military and colonial history. Within Fort King George, travelers can explore the prison and officers' mess, as well as the quaint Tobago Museum located inside of the former barrack guardhouse. The Tobago Museum features weapons and pre-Columbian artifacts found in Scarborough alongside old Tobago maps and photographs. Outside of the historic buildings, visitors can find several canons and expansive views of Scarborough Bay. Tickets to the museum are excluded from the tour price.
Lovely little nature trail, that leads to the first level of the falls and a lovely 18 foot deep swimming lagoon. If you wish you can hire a guide for an additional fee. With 3 levels, the thunderous sound of the waterfall is heard long before you see it. The height of the first cascade hides the real splendor of Argyle’s upper levels. If you are adventurous you can hike up a bushy path on the right hand side to the second level, where you are greeted by a thick mist. At this level, you can lie in several natural rock tubs and let the water rush over your body. Finally, going further the third pool, though the smallest is the deepest and the best for swimming, inviting you to dive, jump or swing into the water from available vines.

Trip Advisor asked me for a comment about Tobago's Bacolet Bay - best reached by traveling east along the main Claude Noel Highway, past the (busy) capital Scarborough, just past the Dwight Yorke football stadium and hanging a right down Bacolet St. Continue until you reach the beach sign on the left side and go down the steps about 50yds to the beach. It WAS a pretty little beach, about 200yds wide. It was beautiful in 2019, deserted and certainly worth a romantic hand in hand stroll with the missus but safe swimming there wasn't advised. Sadly, time hasn't been kind! It has a beach pavilion - but I never saw anyone there and by 2023 (as you can see) it had seriously deteriorated. In 5.2025, after storms, the beach was covered in seaweed and very unkempt. It could be pretty again with a bit of TLC - but until then I'd give it a miss; tho' maybe give it a look-in if you're visiting Fort King George just around the corner and see what's happening there. Believe me, Tobago (my favorite island) is truly fabulous, has much more to offer and deserves more visitors!
Hi, thank you for your detailed feedback. Just to clarify, Bacolet Bay is not part of any of our tours, and this review appears to have been posted on the wrong company page. We’re glad you enjoyed Tobago overall, it truly is a special island with so much to offer.
Had a really good time guide was really polite and informative the waterfalls were awesome the guide that took us to them was really caring telling us when it was slippery under foot all in all a fantastic day
Thank you so much for your kind words. We’re really happy to hear you had such a great experience and that the guides made you feel safe and well looked after, especially at the waterfalls. That’s exactly the kind of day we aim to create. We hope to welcome you back again soon for another adventure.
Great natural experience. Keino was a great host and very knowledgeable of everything. I will do this experience again when I come back to Tobago.
Thank you so much for your kind words. 🌴 We're thrilled you enjoyed the experience and that Keino made it memorable with his knowledge and hospitality. We’d be delighted to welcome you back to Tobago for another adventure, there’s always something new to discover.
This was to be a group experience and last minute was changed to a solo trip with myself and a driver who was not initially listed on the booking. He was very unprofessional and creepy. He snuck a picture of me that I had to force him to delete. He said this was required by the gentleman who was responsible for the excursion (whom I spoke to on the phone and also wasn’t very friendly). He spoke about inappropriate things the entire time and made me entirely uncomfortable. The island was beautiful but the experience was not. Unless you have friends with you, I dont recommend.
We’re sorry to hear you felt uncomfortable. As the tour took place in February and the review is only being posted now in September, it’s difficult for us to investigate further. We always encourage guests to share concerns right away so we can address them promptly. Thank you for your feedback.
I guess this is the best travel agent on Tobago. We were taken in a private car from the harbor and driven all the way to the Buccoo jetty from where we boarded their catamaran and were sailing towards Nylon Pool. It was an amazing experience and the guys aboard the catamaran were taking very good care of us and especially of my little daughter. Very safe and unique experience. The price was more than reasonable. In case I am back to Tobago will definitely use their services again 🇹🇹
Thank you so much for your positive feedback! We're glad to have you as our customers and to see that you enjoyed our beautiful island. We can't wait to see you again soon.
The tour guides were very knowledgeable on both islands. We were able to see the island, eat local foods, and visit the beaches. Englishman Bay and Marcus beach was worth the drive. The beach was beautiful and we were one of only a few people there. The transportation was clean and they provided drinks as well. I would recommend working with them on a tour. As a side note, if you book with them you should request very specific pick up location and ask the guide has a sign with your name or the name of the tour. This is important if you are arriving my cruise. ship.
Dear Rachel Thank you very much for your kind review and for your invaluable feedback, we'll take it on board to improve our service. It was a pleasure to have you as our customers and to see you enjoyed our beautiful islands and we hope to see you soon.
This was a great trip! The sights were stunning. We enjoyed our time snorkeling and exploring the smaller coves. Our guide was exceptional and we even booked a tour later that night to spot the bioluminesence.
We’re so grateful that you took the time to share your feedback with us. It’s our pleasure to serve customers like you. We look forward to seeing you again. Have a wonderful day!
Fantastic day on the water! Good company, beats, amazing views with clear blue water. We also did some snorkeling and enjoyed a lovely bbq at the beach.
Thank you Merlijn for the great review. We hope to welcome you back to Tobago soon .
