Itinerary
At Owakudani Valley, you can try the famous Hakone Black Egg — a hard-boiled egg cooked in the natural hot springs, turning its shell black from the volcanic sulfur. Local legend says that eating one adds seven extra years to your life! Enjoy this unique treat while taking in the dramatic volcanic scenery around you.
Take a thrilling ride on the Hakone Ropeway and enjoy a panoramic view of the stunning volcanic landscape of Owakudani Valley. From the cable car, you can see steaming sulfur vents, Lake Ashi below, and even Mount Fuji on a clear day. The 30-minute journey connects Sounzan and Togendai stations, offering one of the most spectacular aerial views in all of Japan.
Enjoy a scenic cruise across the beautiful Lake Ashi aboard the famous Hakone Pirate Ship! Departing from Motohakone Port, this relaxing 30-minute journey offers breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and, on clear days, the majestic Mount Fuji. Glide over the tranquil waters as you admire the iconic red Torii Gate of Hakone Shrine and the lush natural landscapes that make this area one of Japan’s most picturesque destinations.
Optional: After exploring the lake and volcano of Hakone, continue your day to Gotemba — a serene foothill city of Mt Fuji. Stroll through the luxurious Gotemba Premium Outlets where over 200 shops await, all with Mt Fuji as your backdrop. If you prefer fresh air and mountain-views, enjoy green tea fields, open-air baths, and nature trails in the Gotemba region. On a clear day the view of Mt Fuji is simply unforgettable.
Step back in time at Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nemba, a beautifully restored traditional village on the shores of Lake Saiko. Once destroyed by a landslide, it has been rebuilt as an open-air museum where visitors can experience the charm of old Japan. Stroll among thatched-roof houses showcasing local crafts, art, and culture. You can try on kimono or samurai armor, enjoy handmade souvenirs, and capture stunning views of Mount Fuji in the background.
Known as the “Lake of Reflections,” Saiko is one of the Fuji Five Lakes located at the base of Mount Fuji. Surrounded by peaceful forests and scenic mountain views, it’s a perfect spot to enjoy nature and relax away from the crowds. On clear days, the calm waters of Saiko beautifully mirror Mount Fuji, creating one of the area’s most picturesque scenes. The lake is also popular for light outdoor activities such as walking, boating, and photography.
Lake Kawaguchi is one of the most scenic of the Fuji Five Lakes, offering magnificent views of Mount Fuji reflected on its calm surface. It’s the most accessible and visitor-friendly lake in the region, surrounded by charming cafés, museums, and seasonal flower parks. Whether you’re enjoying a peaceful lakeside stroll, a boat ride, or simply taking photos, Kawaguchi provides a perfect balance of natural beauty and relaxing atmosphere — a must-see spot for any Mount Fuji trip.
Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine (Chureito Pagoda) Visit one of Japan’s most iconic photo spots at Arakura Fuji Sengen Shrine, home to the famous five-storied Chureito Pagoda. From the top of the hillside, you can capture the breathtaking view of Mount Fuji rising behind the pagoda — a scene that perfectly represents Japan’s beauty. The shrine itself is peaceful and surrounded by cherry blossoms in spring and colorful leaves in autumn, making it a favorite for photographers and travelers year-round.
Located at the foot of Mount Fuji in Fujiyoshida, Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine is one of the most important and historic shrines dedicated to the sacred mountain. Surrounded by towering centuries-old cedar trees, the shrine offers a peaceful atmosphere and a deep sense of spirituality. For over a thousand years, it has been the traditional starting point for pilgrims beginning their ascent of Mount Fuji. Walking through its grand torii gates and tranquil forest paths is a truly authentic cultural experience.
Oshino Hakkai is a charming traditional village famous for its eight crystal-clear ponds fed by the pure snowmelt of Mount Fuji. Each pond reflects the beauty of Fuji and is surrounded by thatched-roof houses, waterwheels, and local shops selling handmade snacks and souvenirs. Strolling through this peaceful area feels like stepping back in time — a perfect place to experience Japan’s natural beauty and rural charm while enjoying the stunning view of Mount Fuji.
Optional: Explore the mysterious underground world of Narusawa Ice Cave, formed by ancient lava flows from Mount Fuji. Inside this naturally cooled cave, you’ll see stunning ice pillars and frozen walls that remain even in summer. The cave stays around zero degrees year-round, offering a refreshing adventure and a glimpse into the volcanic history of the Fuji area.
Optional: Located near Aokigahara Forest, the Fugaku Wind Cave is a fascinating natural lava cave formed by Mount Fuji’s ancient eruptions. The cave maintains a cool temperature of around 3°C throughout the year, once used to store silkworm cocoons and seeds. As you walk through the dimly lit tunnel, you’ll see impressive lava formations and learn about the region’s volcanic history — a short but memorable underground adventure near Mount Fuji.
Optional: Step into the elegance of Europe at the Hakone Venetian Glass Museum, Japan’s first art museum dedicated to Venetian glass. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and mountain scenery, the museum features a dazzling collection of both antique and modern glass art from Venice. Stroll through sparkling glass sculptures that glitter in the sunlight, cross charming bridges, and enjoy a relaxing moment at the on-site café with views of Hakone’s serene nature.
Optional: Enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay from the Mishima Skywalk, Japan’s longest pedestrian suspension bridge. Stretching 400 meters across a deep valley, it offers a thrilling yet safe walk high above the trees. On clear days, you can admire a full panoramic view of Mount Fuji, while the surrounding area features cafés, souvenir shops, and adventure attractions — making it a perfect photo and sightseeing stop.

Weather not ideal for viewing. However, our guide Reja was clearly dedicated to providing the best experience possible with consideration of our various requests. Much appreciated.
Jamy was an incredible tour guide! He was incredibly accommodating, helpful, and went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic experience. Highly recommend booking a tour with him!
Loved Jamy! So friendly! So helpful and courteous! Great day all in all💜. Would highly recommend this tour!
Driver guides are very different from walking guides in Japan. We had an excellent driver who genuinely wanted us to have an exceptional experience. However, he was unable to go into the venues with us and his depth of knowledge was limited. Our driver was professional, polite and caring. He was patient and went above and beyond for us.
We had an amazing experience with Reja during our trip to Mount Fuji and Hakone. He picked us up right on time from our hotel in Tokyo and made the entire journey comfortable, enjoyable, and stress-free. Reja is extremely polite, professional, and courteous. He has excellent knowledge of Japan, its culture, and the various attractions in the Mount Fuji and Hakone regions. Throughout the trip, he shared useful information, suggested great viewpoints, and ensured that we made the most of our time. What stood out the most was his friendly attitude, patience, and genuine willingness to help. He went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had a memorable experience. I would highly recommend Reja to anyone visiting Japan and looking for a reliable, knowledgeable, and professional guide/driver. Thank you, Reja, for making our day so special! ★★★★★
The best guide of all , super helpful
Great guide very helpful , polite , recommend everyone can hire without fear of making mistakes
It’s not a tour, it’s a driver. You have to research all the places you want to visit, figure out enough time to spend there, and buy tickets online in advance if you want to save time. You also have to consider traffic - we hit traffic both ways - and ended up paying extra, in cash. The company and the driver made sure to remind us multiple times that every extra 30 min is additional $. We had Ken as our driver. He’s not a tour guide and clearly has no desire to be one. This is a side gig while he’s in school so he can practice English - he told us that much. There was a miscommunication where we thought he said he’ll pick us up from a certain location but it turned out we had to go back. Not a great communicator, and is annoying with personal questions. Like why do you need to know my partners’ age? Also, the car was supposed to have free water and WiFi - we had none. I’ve done multiple tours all over the world and will rate this on the bottom. Again, do your own research about everything and just hire an uber to take you places while there.
Rejaul was a great driver and he was bringing us to all the places we were asking. He was never looking on the clock and we drove home much later than it was agreed. Always with a smile and very friendly
Rana was our driver for the day. Great experience! Highly recommend. Provided several options for our tailored tour. Great communication.
