This was a once in a lifetime experience! I wish it was private haha but understand the reality of travel. I would have done an overnight or two if time permitted but am SO happy I did the full day tour. It seems like a long day but is completely worth every minute. The views are unparalleled and having wine on the roof deck of the ship with my friends, old and new, is a joy I will hold on to for the rest of my life. The options for speedboat, bamboo raft, or kayak were amazing and I’m elated they let us do a couple - kayaking through the cave into that valley of islands was truly a magical moment for me and I’m beyond grateful. The single file line up to the caverns can definitely be skipped - that was very chaotic (perhaps due to the specific brand of tourists on our ship but alas) and seemed disrespectful to the beauty of the space. Our guide, Ling, was great - super informative and funny, he made the 2 hour drive from Hanoi go by really quickly!
Great place for sight seeing. Loved it, entire tour was well organized. Pro - Halong bay is way too beautiful with small islands crossing near by. Tour guide was too good, 5/5👍 Food at the cruise had options for Vegetarian Indian food too. Advise - they drop u at titop island, roam around beach, no need to go on top as stairs r very steep and space at d top of hill is not more than 4 x 3 meter and its crowded at the top, view is amazing, but due to small space at the top, better to enjoy at the beach only. and go for kayaking as boating is boring.
The tour was ordanized very well and the lunch offered was plentiful and offered a good variety. It seemed a little touristy, but it was predictable. Despite the grey weather, the views were still spectacular. Overall, a solid experience!
