Itinerary
The first eerie tales are set around Waterloo Square.
In 1833 crowds gathered for days to see ghost appearances. What were they really witnessing — trickery, rumor, or mass imagination?
At the Nieuwmarkt we recount the story of a woman accused of witchcraft in 1624, while also exploring the history behind the nearby ‘Blood Street’ and what its name tells us about the city’s past.
Step into the past as we explore one of the city’s oldest streets, with historic landmarks like the Spinhuis and the Trippenhuis.
Walking along the Zeedijk, we encounter three tales of Amsterdam’s colorful and mysterious past: Ghost Alley, sailor's café ‘In ’t Aepjen’ and the "Weeping Tower".
Near Central Station, we uncover the odd grandeur of a historic hotel and step into one of Rembrandt's drawing, where a mysterious woman is depicted on the gallows fields — her identity has been a mystery for centuries.
Warmoesstraat has seen centuries of history: from bustling markets to shady deals, this street tells the story of Amsterdam’s vibrant and sometimes scandalous past.

Informative and fun! Luke was wonderful! He was engaging, played a fun game with us to keep the kids engaged and was very accommodating.
Luuk was a very entertaining guide, I really enjoyed listening to all the spooky stories and I would thoroughly recommend the tour to anyone
Really interesting tour around central Amsterdam; very interactive, Luuk was an engaging guide, and lots of fascinating folklore and history. Would recommend!
Great tour. Got to see areas of the city we might not see otherwise. Guide was knowledgeable and easy to talk to
We enjoyed the tour, although we were hoping the stories would be a little longer, more engaging and a little scarier. We had a feeling like the guide was rushing a little bit.
We had a great time on the ghost and legend tour. Luuk was a knowledgeable and friendly guide, who told engaging stories whilst he lead us around the city to parts we had not explored before. Thoroughly recommend this tour!
As a purebred Amsterdamer, I really enjoyed doing the city walk. Not only do I now look at places I have cycled past with very different eyes, but Luuk can also tell beautiful stories about the history of the city in a passionate, fascinating and inspiring way. Highly recommended, also for Amsterdammers. You also get a nice present, which gives you a nice memory of the tour.
Very informative about the dark history of the city. Luuk was an enthusiastic guide. Not sure how he managed it, but we met a black cat eager for attention during the walk. Spooky indeed!
A+, excellent guide. He was flexible and knowledgable of many topics relating to Amsterdam.
It was a very nice walking tour. Not too big and the guide was an excellent speaker. We saw some sights that you would normally miss and the stories were great.
