Our Grand Port Arthur Tour is suitable for the whole family, with plenty of time to explore at your own pace. Includes a relaxing, scenic cruise on Carnarvon Bay, where you'll be entertained and informed with the 1-hour guided walking tour on the Isle of the Dead. Formerly a convict site this now UNESCO world heritage listed site is bursting with history and today boasts a landscape of natural beauty, scenic ruins and restored buildings. Our driver/guide will be on hand throughout the day to provide additional information about this fascinating site and to ensure your time is well spent. Lunch and refreshments can be purchased on site or you are welcome to bring your own. Join the optional free Remarkable Caves tour and enjoy a visit on our return to Hobart at the Chocolate Foundry.

Travel across the Tasman Bridge into the Coal River Valley then onto the historic town of Richmond. Enjoy a short photo stop at the famous convict built Richmond Bridge.
We continue on to the breathtaking Tasman Peninsula. Be in awe of the wonderful views from the Pirates Bay Lookout.

Explore at your own pace and enjoy complimentary site talks at key locations throughout the day, entry to the Port Arthur Gallery which includes interactive displays, a cruise on Carnarvon Bay and a one hour guided walking tour on the Isle of the Dead. Pickup Locations & Times
Hotel pick-ups commence approximately 40 minutes before listed start time/tour departure time. If you selected a hotel pick-up, you will receive a separate email from the tour operator. Please check your emails for the confirmed hotel pick-up time. You will receive the email within 24hrs of booking. For bookings made after closing time for the following day, you will receive your email confirming pick up details the following morning, at least 2 hrs prior to departure. Please be waiting at your hotel pick-up location 5 mins prior to your confirmed pick-up time. Not all pick-up locations are directly at the hotel. The exact pick-up location will be provided in the email sent from the tour operator. If a hotel has not been selected, your pick-up will be confirmed as Brooke St Pier, 12 Franklin Wharf, Hobart (central departure point) at 8.30am.

An absolutely wonderful day. Very well organised. Barry our coach driver kept us entertained and was so knowledgeable. Port Arthur itself is haunting and beautiful. The Isle of the Dead tour was definately a highlight not to be missed. Our guide was a true wealth of knowledge and a wonderful narrator of the history of the site and it's characters. So glad we did this. The chocolate factory stop on the way home was great.

This tour was perfect for our short stay in Hobart as it covered a few different stops as well as a good amount of time to explore Port Arthur. The bus arrived on time to pick us up and from the start we knew it would be a good day as Colin, our driver and guide was so welcoming! His knowledge was amazing and we learn quite a bit that we weren't aware of. I thought the day was good value and the process for admittance at Port Arthur was quick and easy. We had a great day and really appreciated that everything was so well organised, there was no stress and we could sit back and relax.

The very nice views, the very interesting place, we were 10 mins in Richmond, I would have liked to be longer, the whole tour was in English I had hired him because I thought there was going to be some audio in Spanish or something written as it said in the tour announcement but it wasn't.
