Itinerary
Your journey south crosses the Colorado River on the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, one of the highest concrete arch bridges in the world, standing nearly 900 feet above the river beside Hoover Dam. From the elevated seating of the coach, keep your camera ready as your guide points out the engineering marvel below. This is a crossing, not a stop, and one of the great moments of the drive.
The route winds through the Mojave, a landscape of ancient Joshua trees, volcanic rock, and wide-open desert plains that shifts by the mile. Your step-on guide brings it to life along the way, from the hardy plants that survive out here to the history written into the terrain, turning the miles between Las Vegas and the canyon into part of the show.
The drive east follows the corridor of America's most famous highway. You'll roll along a stretch of historic Route 66 itself, and for miles the original Mother Road runs visibly alongside the interstate, the same pavement that carried generations of travelers west. Your guide shares the story of the road that defined the American road trip as it unfolds outside your window.
Enter the national park and begin three full hours at the South Rim, including lunch served right at the rim overlooking the canyon (weather permitting).
Arrive inside Grand Canyon National Park and step up to the canyon's most celebrated first look. A short, easy walk along the paved rim path brings you to Mather Point, where the canyon opens up in a sweeping panorama of layered red, gold, and violet rock stretching to the horizon, with views plunging a mile down toward the Colorado River. This is the postcard view, and the moment most travelers describe as the one that stopped them in their tracks.
Continue along the rim to the top of the legendary Bright Angel Trail, the century-old route that switchbacks a vertical mile down toward the Colorado River. From the overlook, watch hikers and mule trains work their way along the switchbacks far below, the single best way to grasp the true scale of the canyon.
Steps from the trailhead, explore the historic heart of the South Rim. Browse for unique souvenirs inside Bright Angel Lodge, a 1930s landmark designed by famed architect Mary Colter, and take in the architecture of the canyon's golden age, when the railroad first brought travelers to the rim.
Your return to Las Vegas crosses the Colorado River once more on the Mike O'Callaghan–Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, nearly 900 feet above the water that carved the Grand Canyon itself. Catch a final glimpse of the river gorge in the late-day light as your guide wraps up the story of the Southwest's great waterway, then sit back and relax for the comfortable ride home.
Arrive back on the Las Vegas Strip, where your day concludes with drop-off at Treasure Island, Park MGM, or Excalibur, all centrally located for an easy return to your hotel.

We were told we must register pick up place so we can get pick up time. We did. We got an email confirming 6:20 am pick up. At 6:10 am we were told we didn’t show up on time at 5:20 am and they left without us. Except we had it in writing the pick up time was at 6:10 am. Initially they refused to refund us but eventually we got our cash back. However, the missed trip is just that: missed trip and disappointment.
Dear Renata, Thank you for having chosen Gray Line and we are very sorry for the confusion and missed trip. Due to an itinerary change the start time had to be moved, and we incorrectly thought we had properly contacted you regarding the time change. In closing, I want to once again apologize for you having missed your Grand Canyon tour, and I want to wish you all the best in your future travels. Sincerely, Michael S. / GL Vegas Customer Service
We were in great hands with our guide/driver Rod. It was a great experience seeing the beautiful Grand Canyon!

Straight up fraud company. They rescheduled our south rim tour from 6:50 to 4:50. We had to get up 2hrs earlier than expected which was already a hassle, but when we arrived there at 4:40, there was no bus. There was another group of 3 waiting for the same bus. We asked every single bus that arrived there if it was grey line but they weren’t. After an hour and 20 minutes of waiting and unanswered phone calls they finally decide to pick up just to tell us the bus arrived and left and they could do nothing about it. When I told them there was 7 of us and 4 security cameras at the Excalibur Rotunda that could vouch for us and prove they were lying they folded and decided to give us a refund. Horrible experience, I don't think these guys even own a bus.
Dear Reuben, As we have previously discussed with you, we are very sorry that a clerical error resulted in your party not being manifested for the excursion you booked. When the problem came to light, not only did we apologize, we offered to put your party on a more expensive tour to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon the following day. You declined that offer and opted for a full refund, which we processed prior to your posting this review. I think everyone can agree that while we committed an error on your booking, once it was discovered we acted in very responsible manner. In closing, we want to again express our apologies, and wish you all the best in your future travels. Sincerely, Michael S. / GL Vegas Customer Service
Gray line tours pass me to another tour group, maybe because its not enough number of people joining my chosen tour or that tour is full.. But i appreciate it because we had a great time, our tour guide and driver are amazing. Thank u also to gray line for making sure that we are informed of the changes and for making sure the tour will push thru.

Used Grey lines to visit GrandCanyon South. Bus stops at two places for sight seeing and take pictures. If you are looking for some more adventure, this is not your option. Also, the annoying aspect is the driver (name Prince) and his repeated “orders” for paying tips (atleast 20$ per person) and his repeated “warnings” - not to be that late person - to be in time inside the bus otherwise the bus will leave. Wish Grey Lines pays the drivers enough money so they don’t annoy passengers.
Dear chakdec, hank you for being a Gray Line customer and we are sorry for missing your Grand Canyon sightseeing expectations. We do appreciate the kind words you had for our driver Prince. Regarding the excursion, there is no getting around that a day trip to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon makes for a really long day as it is over 570 miles round trip from Las Vegas, which is the closest large city to the South Rim & the National Park. A day trip to the Grand Canyon National Park from Las Vegas is never meant to be an immersive experience, it is intended to give travelers a taste of the magnificence of the Canyon. For those wishing a more immersive experience, a multi-day trip is what is really needed. Our company has been taking guests on day trips to the Grand Canyon for well over 40 years and our itinerary has been developed based on feedback from our guests over that time. In closing, I want you to know we appreciate your feedback and we wish you all the best in your future travel experiences. Sincerely, Michael S. / GL Vegas Customer Service
Everything went good and easy. Driver was very clear and right on point with everything. He also was very funny. “Don't be that guy “ We loved our trip.

The tour was amazing! From the transportation bus which was comfortable, the driver for the smooth drive as well as the very energetic and informative APL.DE AP of Las Vegas - Mr. Prince to the stops, it was totally amazing. Its just that time kinda short we need to hurry at every stop. We hope nextime joiners will have longer stops in every spots or at least there is an option to stay there the whole day and just hop on at the end of the day. Thanks!
