Excellent experience , safe, and fun lead by responsible and professional caring service providers. It is very important to follow the safely rules.
We had high hopes for this excursion, but unfortunately it ended up being one of our least favorite experiences during our trip. The day is advertised as an exciting quad tour, but realistically it’s an 11+ hour commitment, with roughly an hour and a half spent on transportation and administrative tasks before you really get going. In the end, we spent an entire day to visit only four locations around Gozo. The quad portion itself was disappointing. The pace is extremely slow, to the point where cars and Vespas regularly passed us. There are also multiple stops throughout the day, and because some guests repeatedly returned late to the meeting points, everyone else was left waiting. It became frustrating after it happened several times. For the first several hours, there was very little interaction or information from our guide, making for a quiet and somewhat awkward atmosphere. Fortunately, toward the end of the tour we were able to get our guide out of his shell, and he finally started sharing some of Gozo’s history, which was actually very interesting. I just wish that level of enthusiasm had been there from the beginning. One stop was at a well-known diving location that was presented as one of the top diving sites in Malta. After speaking with local divers and doing some research afterward, that claim didn’t seem to be accurate, which made us question some of the information shared during the tour. Lunch was actually excellent, and the meal provided was one of the highlights of the day. However, there was virtually no shaded public seating to enjoy it unless you purchased something from one of the nearby businesses. Since participants are also expected not to drink alcohol before finishing the quad portion of the tour, it made for an uncomfortable lunch stop on a hot day. The tour is also not suitable for anyone with mobility limitations, anyone pregnant, or anyone requiring additional assistance, as there is a significant amount of getting on and off the quads and walking at several stops. One thing that also stood out was the raffle held during the boat ride back. It was a fun idea, but only the winners were encouraged to leave reviews. Looking back at the overwhelmingly positive reviews online, that approach now makes a bit more sense. Also, if you decide partway through the excursion that you’d rather leave early, skip a swim stop, or head back on your own, transportation back is your responsibility. Overall, the scenery in Gozo is beautiful, and there were some enjoyable moments, especially later in the day. However, between the long duration, slow pace, lack of information for much of the tour, and logistical frustrations, this excursion simply wasn’t worth an entire vacation day for us. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re specifically looking for a very slow-paced sightseeing experience rather than an exciting quad adventure.
Dear Nora, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the excursion did not meet your expectations. We would like to clarify a few points for future readers. As your accommodation was in St. Julian’s, the transfer to our departure point in Marfa takes approximately 45 minutes, followed by a 30-minute boat crossing to Gozo. On the return journey, the boat also includes a cruise past the Blue Lagoon, visits to the sea caves, and a swim stop before arriving back at Marfa at approximately 5:30 p.m., where guests are met by their return transfers. These timings and inclusions are clearly published on both our website and itinerary before booking. Regarding the quad ride itself, this is a guided self-drive tour with participants of varying riding experience. For everyone’s safety, the tour is conducted at a controlled pace, with an average speed of around 60 km/h where conditions permit. Our priority is ensuring that all guests, regardless of experience, can enjoy the tour safely. You also mentioned the time spent on administrative procedures. To minimize delays, we send the hire agreement electronically the day before the excursion so guests can complete it in advance. In your case, the paperwork was completed at the garage on the morning of the tour. Regardless, every tour begins with a mandatory safety and operational briefing, which is an essential part of the experience and cannot be omitted. With regard to the diving location at Dwejra, our guides identified the Blue Hole, which is internationally recognized as one of Malta’s and Gozo’s most famous dive sites. A quick search online will show why it is considered a world-renowned diving destination by the international diving community. We appreciate your positive comments about the lunch and Gozo’s scenery. While we understand that our sightseeing-focused quad adventure may not suit everyone’s preferred pace, many of our guests enjoy the combination of guided exploration, scenic stops, and the opportunity to experience Gozo safely by quad. Thank you again for your feedback, and we wish you all the best in your future travels
This is a brilliant way to see the island of Gozo. Emilio and Seif Were brilliant and took care to ensure everyone was safe but had a great time. I can’t recommend this tour enough. It was one of the highlights of our holiday to Malta.
Great tour with lots of amazing sites. Removal of one star is only due to some inefficiency and disorganization on arrival to Gozo ferry terminal (before bus to boats) and arrival back to Malta/buses to hotels. Bus arrived just a few minutes after scheduled to our hotel pick up. communication on WhatsApp was outstanding prior. Bus was small and crowded, completely full but did the job. When we got to the Valletta ferry terminal to cross to Gozo they got us on the boat efficiently. The issues started when we arrived in Gozo, there were multiple groups on multiple tours but no one was proactive about letting us know who we hang with until Chris got involved. Chris is awesome, felt taken care of as long as he was around! It was quite a bit of waiting time in the sun before we got on the bus to the place where ATVs stored. Once we got on the ATVs, it was smooth sailing for the tour. Recommend wearing your bathing suit under your clothes if you want to swim at the grotto that they take you to for lunch- porta potties were only place to change and not ideal. Bring towel! Highly recommend taking the 5 Euro boat tour there just beautiful. Lunch was exactly as described by others, kinda terrible- tasteless pasta, a mushy tomato sandwich and brownie. Some people just ended up getting their own lunch at one of the small restaurants there. There will be places to buy water, but I recommend bringing at least a couple bottles. It is hot and sunny and lots of sun, sunscreen and reapply! Always felt safe on the ATVs I just felt really cool to be free and looking at amazing scenery. They take good care of you and make sure that everyone adheres to the safety rules. Our main tour guide (not Chris) didn’t always wait for folks to get off the bikes to start explaining things, so if you were at the back of the line, oh well. The blue lagoon stop was a quick dip (20 min) if looking for more of a beach adventure then I wouldn’t go with this- it was perfect for us. Feedback for company is that once we got off the boat from Comino it was completely disorganized. They should have one person assigned to tell you which bus to get to go to we ended up walking around for about 10 minutes to find a group going to Valletta and finally a guy who was on the bus with us on the way there yelled out the window “I think you’re with me”! The drivers were nowhere to be found and we sat in a hot bus for several minutes until driver finally arrived and told us he’s going to Valletta. Not the best way to end an otherwise awesome day!
The pickup at our hotel was perfectly punctual. Once we arrived at the port, public restrooms were available before boarding, which took place safely despite a rather rough sea. The atmosphere on board was very pleasant thanks to the music played during the crossing. Upon our arrival in Gozo, a van took us to the garage where the quads were parked. The safety instructions were clear and comprehensive, and hairnets were provided to protect our hair under the helmets. The quads were in good condition and well maintained. Once again, restrooms were available on site. We made five stops at beautiful locations. Our guide, Seif, was remarkable. He made the effort to speak to us in French before continuing his explanations in English for the rest of the group. His level of French is excellent, and this greatly contributed to making the experience even more enjoyable. The lunch was quite satisfactory, contrary to some comments we had read before: pasta salad, a small sandwich, a piece of cake, and a bottle of water, perfect for a day of excursion. The landscapes discovered throughout the journey are simply extraordinary. It was our first experience on a quad, and we loved it. The driving was accessible, enjoyable, and perfectly supervised. Due to the state of the sea, the return was ultimately not made by speedboat but by ferry. This was certainly a decision made for safety reasons, which we completely understand. It would have simply been appreciated to be informed a bit earlier. This small remark does not detract from the overall quality of the experience. This day will remain an unforgettable memory. It was my birthday, and I could not have dreamed of a better way to celebrate it. A huge thank you to Seif and to the entire team who contributed to making this day a complete success. I recommend this excursion without the slightest hesitation!
We booked a Gozo quad bike tour through GetYourGuide, with the tour operated by Yippee. Unfortunately, what should have been a fun and memorable part of our holiday became a stressful and upsetting experience, which left us short of cash and compromised the rest of our honeymoon. My husband and I were each on individual quads, positioned roughly halfway down a convoy of around 22 quads. During the tour, the bonnet of my quad suddenly flew off while we were riding at high speeds on an open road. It hit me in the face before landing in the road. Naturally, the convoy ahead continued, but once my husband realised I was no longer behind him and was out of sight, he turned around to check that I was okay. Instead of showing any concern for what had happened, the response from the guides was extremely disappointing. My husband was reprimanded in front of the group behind me and made to feel foolish. This was embarrassing, unnecessary, and showed a real lack of empathy. It took the shine off the rest of the tour for us. Later in the tour, while travelling at very low speed through a narrow residential area, the convoy stopped at a junction and each quad were inching slowly forward, as you would expect in a line of 22 vehicles at a junction. At this point, the bumper of my quad lightly nudged my husband’s quad. The same guide then insisted this had caused major damage to the radiator. However, another guide (Chris) checked the quad and stated that there was no fluid leakages from coolant, and no visible damage. Despite this, we were made to pay a €450 excess. Given the circumstances, this felt completely unreasonable and left us feeling as though the situation was used as an opportunity to extract more money from us. It cast a shadow over the rest of our holiday as we were left short. The whole holiday booking cost us less than we were charged for this "excess". In this case, the lack of concern when a part of the quad came loose and hit me, the public reprimanding of my husband for checking on me, and the insistence on a large excess despite conflicting assessments of the damage made the experience feel deeply unfair. I would strongly advise anyone booking this tour to be extremely cautious, especially regarding the condition of the vehicles and the way alleged damage is assessed.
Dear Rebecca, Further to the reviews you have posted across various platforms, we would like to clarify that the circumstances surrounding the incident were acknowledged at the time. As discussed during the tour, you accepted responsibility for the accident and apologized on several occasions. We would also like to remind you that, prior to the tour, it was clearly communicated that any damage caused to a vehicle would incur a charge to cover the applicable insurance excess fee. In addition, contrary to what you stated in your review, we do not even have 22 quads. Each tour leader is responsible for a maximum of eight vehicles. We strive to be transparent with all our clients and make every effort to ensure that expectations, responsibilities, and terms are clearly understood before the tour begins.
Excellent moment! Very varied in discoveries! The guides are great! I highly recommend it!
Great activity, lots to see and knowledgeable guides. The boat trip back even included the Blue Lagoon and caves
Good fun, well organised. Good lunch, great guides. Nothing much more to say but need 10 characters 🤣
Overall, it was good. The quad part was really fun. However, we had to wait long before the bus has picked us up. Also, when someone didn’t shop up, we had to stop and wait for them (although in the email it says the bus only waits 2 minutes for you). The food was not the best, it was just some veggies thrown into something like a pita. We couldn’t go to the shore on blue lagoon, we only stood 30 minutes in the boat in the water. Also, the route was not the same as it is in the itineary.
