The best thing I like about audioguides is that you don’t rush from one must‑see to another. Whenever I wanted, i just sat down in a café, paused the guide, and then continued exactly from where i left off. You can also feel that the text is written by a real person, not a machine. It’s not dry or generic, there’s humor, small details and observations that make the city feel alive, and it never sounds like a copy‑paste from an online encyclopedia. At times it felt more like walking around with a local friend
I really liked this audio guide. I was walking around the Gothic Quarter alone, and it was especially important for me to feel like I had company along the way—someone telling me what to look out for and helping me get a better feel for the place. My hotel was in the Gothic Quarter, and I used this audioguide to view the area. I found I needed Google Maps as well. The metro only runs at major streets on the outskirts of the Gothic Quarter, so be prepared to walk a lot of steps. I found that the audioguide was great for explaining all of the places on the tour, with lots of storytelling, but no long explanations. I appreciated the chance to go out of order to start near to my hotel, as well as the opportunity to go into the cathedral and other churches, stop for meals, comfort breaks, and to shop, and still have the audioguide waiting. I did the guide in a day, but it would work well divided over several days, with half the day seeing a site outside the gothic quarter, and the other meandering with the audioguide.

Information was great but the directions were horrible. Find an app that integrates a gps system for much less frustration.

Barcelona is an expensive city, so using an audio guide was a nice way to save some money and have some historical exposition during the walk. Kids usually don't like to read, but listening with a headphone in one ear is Ok. The gothic quarter of Barcelona is not very big, and a pre-planned route helps you to discover it in one walk, without missing anything important. Definitely worth it.
