Itinerary
Your adventure day tour starts with an afternoon Reykjavik pick up. From the capital you will head towards your first sightseeing stop of the day, Thingvellir National Park.
Thingvellir is rich in both gelogy and history, being the place where the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates are going a part as well as holding the oldest existing parliatment in the worldd, Althingi which was founded there in the year of 930. Drink in the true beauty and power of mother nature at this wonderful national Park before continuing to your next stop, Geysir hot spring area.
Geysir is all about spouting geysers. Here you will get to experience Strokkur geysir spout water up to 25 - 40 m up in the air. It is an experience like no other, stunning but incredible moment so make sure to bring your camera along. Strokkur erupts every 8 - 10 minutes.
The final highlight of your Golden Circle sightseeing adventure is the magical Gullfoss Waterfall, better known as the Golden Falls. Gullfoss is the most popular waterfall in Iceland and for a good reason, this beautiful waterfall drops 32 m in two stages providing you with some great photo opportunities. After admiring the breathtaking beauty of Gullfoss Waterfall you will start making your way back to Reykjavik where your tour ends. You can expect to be back in Reykjavik at around 18:00 PM.
Kerið crater, a geological wonder formed over 6,500 years ago, is the result of a volcanic eruption that caused a cone-shaped volcano to collapse, leaving behind the striking crater we see today. Over time, the crater filled with water, creating a beautiful blue lake within its caldera. The vibrant blue-green waters and the contrasting red volcanic rock make Kerið a must-see destination. The caldera spans 886 feet (270 meters) in diameter, with steep walls reaching up to 180 feet (55 meters) high. From the crater rim, you can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and distant mountains on clear days. For a closer look, take a 20-minute loop hike around the lake to capture stunning photos and fully appreciate the crater's mesmerizing blue waters. In summer, the red volcanic rocks contrast beautifully with the green moss. In winter, you'll be enchanted by the snow-covered slopes and the frozen lake, making Kerið a year-round wonder.

This was a great tour covering the Thingvellir National Park, Gullfoss Waterfall, Geysir and Kelid crater lake. All were spectacular and showed the stunning beauty of Iceland. Really glad we chose the small group tour as the minibus was new and very comfortable. However what made the experience was Iva the guide. Her knowledge was great and her love of her adoptive country shone through. If you are with her you will not be disappointed.
All the right stops but viewing time was too short. Trouble with the vehicle delayed us an hour. Guide was good
Our guide was very knowledgeable and added an additional stop at the end of the day from a request of one of the passengers. We would highly recommend but just be aware that the bus seats are very small and the seating is very tight. Air circulation is not very good and the bus we were on needed some work done on the suspension system.
Hi there, thanks for the feedback. Glad the guide was flexible enough to add a stop and that the day worked well. Sorry the vehicle wasn't fully comfortable, we'll share your notes with the team. Come back any time! Arctic Adventures Team
The stops were fabulous with great photo opportunities. Almost every stop had restrooms. Our guide was very knowledgeable.
I’m extremely disappointed and frustrated with this experience. We booked the Golden Circle tour weeks in advance and were genuinely excited to see Þingvellir, Geysir, and Gullfoss. Unfortunately, our connecting flight was delayed due to circumstances entirely outside our control, and we landed too late to make the tour’s departure time. We contacted the tour guide as soon as we knew about the delay, but received no flexibility on rescheduling or a partial refund. We paid full price for a tour we never set foot on. I understand operators have cancellation policies, but a blanket ‘no refund, no exceptions’ stance for a documented flight delay feels punitive rather than reasonable. I would not book through this company again.
Our guide was new to the job. Her microphone did not work properly so it was hard to hear and understand what she was saying. After the geyser she took an unpaved road and eventually had to turn back - it was very uncomfortable riding. The 4 sites we saw were interesting and worthwhile.
Hi there, thanks so much for taking the time to share this. Feedback like yours is exactly what helps us improve, and we'd like to look into the details of that departure. Please reach out to us with your booking reference so our team can follow up properly. Glad the sites themselves were the worthwhile part. Arctic Adventures Team
Over the course of six hours, we visited four major natural landmarks. To some the amount of time available to explore each of the locations was insufficient. In each location, you were only off the bus for 20 to 30 minutes. For us this was perfect… For the amount of time we had available this worked out well, so we could see a lot of the main ring attractions. Our guide Paul was great. While we were driving, he was also telling us some of Iceland’s history which made the trip more enjoyable. I will note that for those who may be walk a little slower it was tough to get as much out of the experience.
Excellent trip, varied and informative. Edgar was a first class driver and guide. Good command of English and easy communicator. He looked after us well and made a trip on a cold and wet day most enjoyable
Hi there, thanks for sharing. A cold and wet Golden Circle afternoon that still comes together as a great day is entirely down to the guide. Happy to hear you enjoyed it! Arctic Adventures Team
Please convey my thanks & appreciation to our tour guide and driver, Edgar! He was professional, knowledgeable & very informative! His great sense of humor made for a fun afternoon touring beautiful Iceland! JS
Hi John, really glad you shared this. Humor and solid knowledge of Iceland on the same afternoon is a good combination. Glad the guide made it as informative as it was fun. Arctic Adventures Team
Really enjoyed this trip. Excellent value and our guide Edgar was very informative and good fun. The length of the trip was perfect.
Hi there, thanks for your feedback. Happy to hear the afternoon felt well-paced from start to finish, and that the guide made it an enjoyable one. Arctic Adventures Team
