We really enjoyed our kayaking guide and the experience was really fun. We also had beautiful weather so it made the experience even more enjoyable. The one part of the experience that deferred from what was advertised was that you could not get close enough to the icebergs to actually touch them for safety reasons. This is not a reflection of the tour management, mostly an observation because the pictures shows the kayakers touching the icebergs Otherwise, it was a very relaxing awe-inspiring experience.
We missed our trip because we waited at the office .....that is where the link to the meeting place provided by Tripadvisor took us.....
It is kayaking so paddling. But the pleasure is especially to be in the middle of the waves surrounded by seals that appear near the kayak along the way.
Well, my experience sucked simply because the tent was empty. Nobody was there and I never got a refund. I requested a refund. It’s been a week and I still haven’t gotten one so I guess I’ll just leave a negative review up here until it happens.
Wasn’t sure what to expect going into this experience due to the mixed reviews. However, really ended up enjoying this experience. All gear required is provided, but bring a good set of gloves as the wind can be cold when your hands get wet. After we left it was very tranquil with no noise except our paddles. We got very close to several smaller glaciers, got to enjoy the larger ones from a safe distance, and got to meet some of the harbour seals who call the lagoon home. All in all great experience with a great guide.
Good experience despite bad weather. The staffs were nice and we got free chocolate wafer after the trip
A great thank you to our guides Ivo and Fabio for the nice kayaking and for all the stories and explanations... great experience !
Disappointing trip to Heinabergslon glacier lagoon by kayak. The suit provided by Iceguide.is was old and not waterproof: I spent the end of the activity soaked and frozen. Ask for a blue and black combination, these are the newest. The attendants are friendly but this is not enough to make the activity interesting. The excursion is focused on paddling, not on observing the site, which I had not imagined. I had preferred this option to avoid the crowds but to choose between the two "amusement parks", the Jokulsarlon lagoon is the most impressive, and a hike around seems more interesting to me.
We did this family activity with Fabio and Emile as guides, and we were delighted by their work! Very friendly they made a full briefing, on the water we had explanations about the icebergs and the kayak tour is simple, but superb. We loved it! The two 14-year-olds thought it was fabulous.... And so do we! Thank you Ice Guide, Fabio and Emile! Thank you for the photos too. Famille Cortial
Absolutely beautiful way to see the glacier! Guide was very knowledgeable and made my family feel safe!
