Your first stop of the day is the historic city of Girona, where the remnants of its Roman and medieval past seamlessly blend with modern life, creating a striking contrast. Stroll through its maze of narrow streets and step back in time as you explore Europe’s one of the best preserved Jewish Quarter.
Within the city's ancient walls, take a leisurely stroll through the Jewish Quarter, one of its most iconic areas. Wander through a labyrinth of narrow alleys and courtyards that still retain the charm of medieval times. As one of the best-preserved Jewish quarters in the world, it stands as a testament to the significant role Jewish culture played in Girona’s history.
In the Força Vella (Old Town), marvel at the Girona Cathedral, perched at the highest point of the city. Dating from the 11th to the 19th centuries, the cathedral showcases a mix of architectural styles, from its Romanesque monastery to its grand Baroque façade. The cathedral's most impressive feature is its expansive Gothic nave, which at 22 meters (72 feet) wide, is the largest of its kind in the world.
Marvel the colorful façades of the houses on the shores of the Onyar River that flows through the city and engenders this warm atmosphere of colored houses and symbolic image of Girona. Javier took our family on an excellent tour of Girona, circling us through and around the medieval town and Jewish quarter. We greatly enjoyed all of Javier's insightful local knowledge and recommendations on dining and cuisine. Javier also gave us a tour of beautiful medieval Peratallada and we stopped in coastal Palafrugell for a few hours on the beach and by the sea. A wonderful day, all thanks to Javier!

We booked this day tour through Viator to Girona and Costa Brava. This was the 10th attempt to get a private tour.
