Easy to locate office. Alberto was our lovely tour guide. We walked round to the entrance and given headset ( just for clarity - Albert explained every statue with interest, knowledge and enthusiasm. He was engaging and interactive. Great tour.
Tour of the Gaudi houses First off all, this tour is very misleading because the tour’s title, along with the email confirmation, say it’s a tour of all three houses, when in fact you have to specifically add on Casa Vicens. We only saw Casa Batllo and La Pedrera, so be confident you understand what you are signing up for on this tour. We arrived at the meeting point which is inside the gift shop of the White Rabbit museum gift shop which is not directly affiliated with the tour. They said to arrive 15 minutes early, which we did, and we just sat in the gift shop for 15 minutes. There was no advance prep needed and was a waste of our time. We then met our well-intended but absolutely uninformed and untrained tour guide who was taking us to Casa Batllo. We did skip the line and walked right in. She took us through the house and pointed out very basic information like “look at this very nice lamp”. This guide did not provide historical or artistic feedback and I should have just bought my own ticket to the tour the home myself. She was completely inept are her job and for this price, we were very disappointed. The home itself is a must see. There were seven of us on the tour including my group of three. After the tour of the Casa Batllo, the tour guide walked us up the avenue to the La Pedrera (about a 10 minute walk), pointing very remarkable buildings but again providing little to no information about them. The guide then left us in this very touristy cafe in the La Pedrera for about 20 minutes while we waited, with nothing to do, for our next guide. Our next guide arrived and about six additional people joined our initial seven group. The new group of six (various couples) were told they weren’t seeing all three houses and this was only the tour of La Pedrera. They proceeded to the argue with the tour guide about how they weren’t receiving the tour they booked and the guide just acted like it wasn’t her problem. The initial seven became annoyed that this was delaying their tour. After about 5-10 minutes of arguing with no resolution, we began the tour. This guide of La Pedrera was great; great attitude, organized, and very knowledgeable. The La Pedrera is also a must see, especially the roof. The total tour of the two houses was 2.5 hours, including all the wasted time. Overall I would not suggest this tour. For the price, it’s just not worth it. I strongly recommend using a different tour company or doing self guided tour. It was very expensive and not well managed. I will be seeking a refund.
This tour was supposed to include both Casa Batllo and Casa Pedrera. However the Casa Pedrera part was cancelled, although we did get the ticket to see it on our own. This was actually beneficial as doing both as a tour is a three hour affair and I think too long. The tour was also in English and Spanish which was a little awkward. Casa Batllo is amazing and I highly recommend seeing that Casa but I think you can do it without a guide. They have audio guides.
Dear customer, Thank you for sharing your thoughts about the Gaudí Guided Tour. We're sorry that the guided visit to Casa Milà (La Pedrera) was cancelled and understand that this might have changed your expectations. However, we're glad to hear that you were still able to visit it on your own and found value in the flexibility it offered. Casa Batlló is indeed a stunning site, and we’re happy you enjoyed your time there! Whether guided or self-guided, it’s always a remarkable place to explore. Best regards, Julia Travel Customer Service
This tour was cancelled at the last minute. I received NO notification of this. I expect a full refund. I tried to go on line and get tickets for casa mila, but, none were available.
Dear customer, Thank you for taking the time to write this review. After checking, in the last few days we have no record of the cancellation of the Casa Milà tour. Unfortunately without more information about your issue, we cannot address the issue you supposedly had with our company. Please do not hesitate to contact us through your booking agency in case you need our assistance, Best regards,
The tour was amazing - Gaudi is a genius! Our guide was very knowledgeable and did a good job keeping our group intact despite it being very crowded in the houses. The only thing that we felt was a negative is that the tour was in English and Spanish, and at times it was difficult to follow and understand everything being said. I know now to look for “monolingual” when booking a tour.
An amazing Gaudi experience. Our guide, Oliver, knew Gaudi inside out & shared great info with our group. It was a bummer though that at Casa Batllo he was given a group of Spanish speakers within the larger group of English speakers. Oliver managed this well BUT it was very distracting & disappointing. However when we moved to Casa Milo we were a small English group & Oliver gave us his best. Touring these Gaudi houses is a must do in Barcelona
This was the absolute worst experience ver. The guide rushed us through the Casa Battleo house in 20 minutes only to leave us at the gift shop for over 50 minutes. She would not sotp to let us enjoy the house and all its amazing decor. We then set off to Casa Mila and it more of the same. Very disorganized at the entrance. It was like she had never been there before. The most disappointing experience we have ever had. Definitely not worth the cost!!!
Dear CLAUDE_P Thank you for sharing this review, I regret to learn that the tour felt shorter than expected, It is necessary to point out that we have recieve no otehr negative comments form the rest of attendants on this tour, Please bear in mind that the tour begins with a 15 minutes outside explanation as the Casa Batlló history is related to the other famous houses nearby. At the end of the visit the group walks the short distance till they access La Pedrera. The group visits both houses going through the different floors, visiting the ‘noble floors’ and the terraces, Best regards,
The guide wasn’t organized an all. We wasted a lot if time waiting. And can not understand very much.
Dear Lily_Y, Thank you for taking the time to share this review, I regret to learn that the tour didn’t live up to your expectations. Nonetheless, I will transfer your comments to our corresponding manager so he to see whether there is room for improvement on the tour. Best regards,
Oliver was a wealth of information about the Casa Battlo. Enjoyed the explanation of the story about St Jordi and the killing if the dragon and how Gaudi transfer all that into the design of the exterior of Casa Battlo. Once inside, Oliver’s narrative made our minds transport in time and really realized how amazing and what a genious Gaudi was! Casa Mila’s balconies and roof were spectacular! Be prepare to climb 5 floors of stairs , but the roof view and structures are sure worth it!!!! You can also admire Gaudi’s Casa Mila model on the top floor and other interesting models on how Gaudi could visualize the towers of the Sagrada Familia Basílica.
Our guide had a bad microphone; her narration was very broken up over the course of the tour of both houses. Many in the group called this to her attention multiple times. She'd simply play around with it and asked if it worked, and if it did she moved on (just before it broke up again). She never made an attempt to contact her company and/or the person that took our names before the tour to swap the equipment. But little matter; when we could hear her she said something enlightening like, "here's another room". Her narration was of very little interest. We didn't learn about the site or the architecture of the people involved. Many in the group were laughing out loud re: how absurd this all was. She rushed through the rooms. Some of the people in our tour covertly grabbed the official audio tour at the second house so they could learn *something*. But we didn't spend enough time in any given place so they couldn't get through much of that narration (and they were pretty upset). Our guide ended the tour 30 minutes early. When questioned she said it was okay since it was a small group. What? I've been on MANY Viator tours and this was clearly the worst experience we ever had. She asked me what I thought at the end of the tour and I told her, "well, at least we got into the houses".
Dear Kevin_B Thank you for sharing this review, I regrte to leran that you were not satsified with the Gaudi's houses gudied tour, Although our radioguides are regularly tested to ensure all components are working properly, unfortunately, this type of problem can appear during the tour. Please bear in mind that we didn't recieve any other claim of this type regarding our guide's performance from the rest fo attendants on this tour, Sincerely,
