Gardens are nice lots of orchids and other plants to see, it’s a good place to be when hot, plenty of shade. The view from the top is a bit average. It’s 50min from Denarau island to the mud pools. Mud pools are a bit odd, you smear mud on yourself and then get into the water, so not strictly a mud pool. Water at source about 35-38deg The driver we had was very nice, the vehicle was not in good shape, no rear brakes and we asked for a booster seat in the chat but nothing eventuated.
seamless booking and communication with the operator
The Garden was a beautiful garden filled with multiple plant species. The garden is a vast expanse of flowers and trees with many picturesque landscapes. Our tour guide, Bill, was highly knowledgeable in all the plant species, including their significance and usage in traditional Fijian culture.
The gardens were beautiful. Very serene. The mud pools were fun. A little disappointed to find out on the morning if our trip that we needed to pay the driver FJD extra as we were staying outside the Nadi area. However our driver was awesome. Very knowledgeable and courteous. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour.
Hotel pick up with a trip first to the gardens which had a beautiful variety of plants and flowers, complimentary tropical juice after while we waited for transport, then onto the hot springs and mud pool, skin felt so smooth after the mud and hotsprings were very relaxing. Some of the group had massages and there was stalls to buy souvenirs. Local man went and climbed a coconut tree for fresh coconuts. I would suggest bringing snacks and money if you want fresh coconut or souvenirs.
Was told driver would be back after one hour. Left waiting at the garden which was amazing for an extra one hour with no communication from either the driver or the company. Even the staff at the gardens tried to contact them . Disappointing 😞
Don’t miss this fantastic day trip! The gardens are absolutely beautiful. Easy paths to navigate and many rest stops along the way. Mud bath was fun and skin did feel amazing after. Facility is in a Fijian village Wild Bill and the women are warm and welcoming. Amenities are limited. Bring water. Our driver, Eli was the best. Friendly and knowledgeable. Enjoyed the ride. 🤙🏽
Great to get a village experience as well as see some wonderful gardens and views. Likewise the mudpools was a bit of a novelty. Good time to go later in the day as it was cooler and less people
SHOCKING- we were taken in a 20 year old vehicle which was clearly not safe - 4 flashing warning lights on the dashboard, engine, seat belts but wearing them, alarm triangle and exclamation mark. The vehicle was literally held together with sticky tape. Because of our reluctance to attempt a dangerous road - water washing across the road - in this vehicle , we had to cut our tour short and only went to the Garden of the sleeping giant. How you can send a vehicle like this to international travellers is beyond belief. My advice to other travellers, select another company that respects you and your safety. Our guide/driver, Rush, was very aware of the situation and drove with extreme care on the bad road. So disappointing in a country that relies on its tourism.
In the wording a tour would suggest a bit more than drop off at each location. We were paired with another couple from a different hotel and their mud bath component was at a seperate venue and they had a massage included which really made a mess of timings.
