I have used them in 2015 and back then it was relatively ok. Now just terrible. For 10 years they did not invest anything in improving the tour. The boat itself is in bad shape. The toilet was really smelly to the point that it was hard to take a shower. The food was mediocre and they scaled down the tour to a bare minimum. If you are going onto cruise, then you want the experience to be memorable. And indeed this one was memorable but in the worst imaginable way. I would suggest that you book the most expensive cruise available in hopes that other companies would be better than Garden Bay Cruises.

This was an exceptional experience and I am so grateful for the last minute change of plans which took me on the 2 day/1 night Halong/Bai tu long cruise. The crew and guide were outstanding. Some of the best service I have had in a country that always does this well. The food was excellent and so much more than I would have expected. Plenty of variety and my food allergies were catered for easily and safely. The activities were fun and well paced. (Note these may vary with weather and seasons) The bed was really comfortable and I really liked the traditional style if the boat. Highly recommend this, and would like to do a longer cruise another time.
