The Barone Fortress, also known as Šubićevac Fortress, is a historic 17th-century fortification located on Vidakuša hill in Šibenik, Croatia. It is renowned for its panoramic views of the city and the Adriatic Sea
This fortress, also known as Tanaja, is the largest and highest of the Šibenik fortresses, sitting 120 meters above the old town. In our tour, the fortress of St.John is one of the two main locations where Game of Thrones was filmed.

We're currently sitting in the cafe adjacent to the tranquil garden he showed us on the Tour. It was a near perfect mixture of learning about the towns history, some not so obvious highlights and the making of Game of Thrones. Ivans love for his hometown was clearly present throughout the whole tour. Ps: Ivan, greetings from Kristijan 😉
We got to know about GOT's shooting locations in Sibenik when we were in Zadar. We got a bit late to book the tour via Getyourguide, so called the operator directly, and fortunately they said we can book it directly at the starting point, provided we come 30 minutes earlier for the 10AM slot. We drove from Zadar and reached within time to get the tickets. Luckily we were the only ones that day and were fortunate to literally get a private GOT tour by one of the guides, who had acted as extras in an episode. Ivan, started the tour by driving to the hilltop and helped us take family photos. He didn't rush at all, and gave us ample time at stops to soak in the vibe, and take photos. He showed us the original shoot images of the Iron bank, etc. He also showed us the shot where he got a chance to act, and the funny story behind the shoot. It was definitely the best tours we've ever taken, and I would highly recommend to the GOT fans for this tour, even more than the tour in Dubrovnik.
