The classic shot of Li River is the one called "fishing lights on the Li River", together with sunrise or sunset. In the past, local fishermen paddled their bamboo raft and went fishing on the Li River as night falls. A magical scene appears when the river is dotted with fishing lights. It's a scene that shows an intimate relationship between human and nature. Highlights: 1. Note: If you want to book this tour ONE day before, you'd better check with us if has a Fisherman available or not, due to sometimes the fishing man is fully booked, thank you.

The "fishing lights on the Li River" is part of the traditional lifestyle of a local Lijiang fisherman. around 17:00pm at the later afternoon, he uses only a paddle, bamboo leaf, lantern, and his cormorant bird to catch fish. He doesn’t need hooks, or bait — just a mutual trust with the cormorant. The fisherman show tour duration around 1.5hrs, during the whole show time you will see the traditional fisherman wearing a hat and rain coat, the cormormants how to catching fish, the fishing man casting nets, the fishing man smoking on boat and lighting the lamp during the sunset and so on. Itinerary: 16:00-17:00: Our guide meet your Yangshuo hotel lobby/Yulong river park gate and transfer to the Xingping river pier.(The Guilin hotel pick up at 15:00). 17:00--18:50: Enjoy the FISHERMAN show and beautiful sunset at Li-River. 19:00--20:00:Back to Yangshuo hotel or Guilin hotel.
You will stop at Li-river--Xingping section of the 20RMB view point for the sunset tour with the fisherman.

I had a great evening tour with Andy taking a road trip from Guilin city to Xingping fishing village. Andy was punctual, personable, and knowledgeable. He explained about the local culture and customs and we had enjoyable conversation on various topics as well. His planning was impeccable and thoughtful in that the fisherman he arranged for the evening was in a convenient and clear location away from the crowd and in clear view of the background mountains and sunset. He even looked up and gave me directions to a delicious Xinjiang restaurant in Guilin for supper after the trip. I highly recommend Andy and the fisherman tour.
Andy (the tour guide) was very accommodating and friendly. We spent two days with him and he was very flexible in terms of scheduling and itinerary. It rained the first day when we were supposed to climb Xianggong Mountain for a sunrise hike so he took us to Cuiping Hill to see the sunset instead. He didn't rush us, and is a very easygoing person. He's also a really good driver so you can rest assured. We highly recommend him for your Guilin and Zhangjiajie tours!
Andy was our guide for the evening he collected us promptly at hotel in yangshou at 5pm as arranged drove us to Xingping and quickly arranged a fisherman with boat and commerants to pose for sunset photos in the river. He the drove us back to our hotel in Guilin. He is a first class guide with very good english. During our 4 hours with him he gave us the best insight to life in china that we received in our 6 week visit. His care for his customers is exemplary and he allowed us all the time we needed to take our photos. We had a very enjoyable and successful evening which would not be possible without Andy unless you are fluent in Chinese and hold a Chinese driving licence. Full marks to Andy for the way he runs his business. 5 star's
This was an amazing experience. Getting to see the fishermen up close and being the only ones with him made it a memory we will never forget. The fishermen was so friendly and excited to show us. Andy the guide, was beyond fantastic. He took us to see the fishermen and the 20 yuan mountain. His English is great so you can ask questions. It was raining when we went and Andy made sure we had umbrellas and took great care of us. I would highly recommend doing his tour
Andy our guide was excellent, he was helpful and prompt. We had a good time with him, unfortunately the weather was so cloudy and we couldn't catch sunset. However, the setting was beautiful and we captured nice photos during afternoon.
This tour was AMAZING! You get stunning pictures out of it! Scenic, fisherman and the birds are exceptional! Andy, the guide, is also super nice! A must do when you are in the region!
