Limatambo is a place of passage and connection with the Mollepata farm, located in the upper part, the starting point of the four-day hike to Machu Picchu, after passing through the snow of Salkantay, travels a long descent that crosses Puna, Andean highlands, forests dwarfs and jungle eyebrow, until you reach the high jungle of Santa Teresa. Tarawasi, the historical tradition indicates that this place was commanded to be built by the Inca Pacahacutec in order to establish a resting "tambo" in the area, on the road to the Chinchaysuyo area (east). It has a large platform with carved stone walls and joined in a cellular style, built also in granite. There is also a stone altar ("usnu"), agricultural platforms with their respective source and irrigation canal.

Mollepata is one of the many "Haciendas" in this valley that borders "Apurimac". In Limatambo there is another one, surrounded by vegetation and with four huge palm trees in each corner, that of Sondor, forming another unique image. The palm trees is a tradition that comes with Spanish landowners, who in turn picked it up from the Arabs, being an indication, in the vastness of the mountains, of an inhabited place, a kind of oasis along the way. The Sondor estate attracts attention from Tarawasi for the colors of its walls and the huge glass windows that form the main facade, causing light reflections among the lush vegetation.
