Itinerary
Limatambo is a place of passage and connection with the Mollepata farm, located in the upper part, the starting point of the four-day hike to Machu Picchu, after passing through the snow of Salkantay, travels a long descent that crosses Puna, Andean highlands, forests dwarfs and jungle eyebrow, until you reach the high jungle of Santa Teresa. A less demanding route than others offered in Cusco and that can be done in camps or in lodges. An experience in which you live a great diversity of ecological floors.
Tarawasi, the historical tradition indicates that this place was commanded to be built by the Inca Pacahacutec in order to establish a resting "tambo" in the area, on the road to the Chinchaysuyo area (east). It has a large platform with carved stone walls and joined in a cellular style, built also in granite. There is also a stone altar ("usnu"), agricultural platforms with their respective source and irrigation canal.
Mollepata is one of the many "Haciendas" in this valley that borders "Apurimac". In Limatambo there is another one, surrounded by vegetation and with four huge palm trees in each corner, that of Sondor, forming another unique image. The palm trees is a tradition that comes with Spanish landowners, who in turn picked it up from the Arabs, being an indication, in the vastness of the mountains, of an inhabited place, a kind of oasis along the way. The Sondor estate attracts attention from Tarawasi for the colors of its walls and the huge glass windows that form the main facade, causing light reflections among the lush vegetation.
"Casa Salkantay" is a local restaurant whose work philosophy is "sustainability", it is a venture that provides our customers with breakfast and lunch in a traditional and cozy place with people very attentive to our requirements.

Very beautiful, we got to the horse and it was worth it
We made trips with Machu Picchu. Wonderful and exhausting. But and impervious. The guides were excellent. We spent one night in the Domos to follow another trail the next day. It was great excellent homemade food, made with a lot of affection in the Domo and the pond and simply impervious
Mary is amazing. The best and caring tour guide ever. She is knowledgeable, friendly, welcoming and just an all around good person to have as a guide in a new country. She taught us a breathing method that invaluable. I am going to miss her
Local is 2 hours away from Van, arriving there has to walk 6 km and 6 km back. The climb is difficult due to distance , altitude and terrain , but you can count on horse help for 80 soils , but it 's worth every second . The place is beautiful
Tremendous place!! The recommendation is to go and sleep in the Bioandean domes (they are the most complete) so that the experience is complete and you can see the lagoon without so many people, since at one time it is exploited by the tours that go only for the day. We went to @healthtrek.cordoba and hired there.
Gracias por tu reseña Carlos, Espero vuelvas mas seguido saludos Equipo Willka
