All of our rides were with Gianluca Savarese’s company. Gio was our driver for Pompeii & Sorrento. He was fantastic!!! Friendly, communication was great, punctual and even took us to a place to try olive oil and wine which was wonderful. Anytime we are in Italy I would absolutely use these guys every time. Great people.
We had a fantastic day with Gianluca driving down the Amalfi coast and visiting Positano. Our driver Gianluca went the extra mile and took us to stunning photo spots, drove us safely on very tight winding roads (do not recommend renting a car and driving yourself) and he made lunch reservations for us at a beautiful spot and got us a perfect table overlooking Positano. He recommended best shops and really listened to what we would enjoy. Highly recommend Gianluca!
We used Private Day tours for transfers and two tours. The service was outstanding, very professional. Our driver, Joe took us to Pompeii and led us on our driving tour of Amalfi. Joe's knowledge and his expertise were evident. The Amalfi tour was incredible, he made it a true delight. During the drive to Pompeii, he was always pointing out things of interest. Our guide in Pompeii was also outstanding. I would highly recommend Private Day Tours and would especially recommend requesting Joe! We will certainly use their services on our next trip!
Joe was amazing! He picked us up and dropped us off at the Napoli train station, (to/from Sorrento) with cold waters in his perfectly clean Mercedes van. He had lots of information about local food, fun and shopping. His recommendations were better than the hotel’s. We also book a trip to Pompeii - they arranged a fabulous tour with an archeologist as our tour guide. Francesca was so knowledgeable. It was perfect!
Silvio, future King, was amazing!! he was very concerned with us having an exceptional experiences. Silvio is very knowledgeable of the places we shared on the Amalfi coast. We very much appreciate Joe’s guidance throughout our adventures, and his concern for us having exceptional experiences. We will certainly use the company again.
We spent an amazing week on the Amalfi Coast. Daily Gioacchino (Joe) would come to the house and drive us for the day. Always early and ready to go. Dressed professionally and was an excellent guide to take me and my family down the beautiful mountain coast roads. Joe was extremely informative and stopped at the best spots for a photo op. After spending the week with him he became part of our family. Plan on getting back to the Amalfi Coast and having Joe take care of us again. Best driver and best company!
My day with Gio (Joe) on my guided tour was a highlight of my two weeks in Italy. I learned and saw so much! The tour was enhanced by the stops Gio included of the beautiful views, plus his home town! A very special day.
Silvio is the best driver there is. If I could give him high stars, I would. Great drivers, great music, great driving. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a good time. Silvio catered to us perfectly, if we needed anything, he had it. Thank you very much Silvio! I hope you continue to be great.
There were 8 of us who took the Mercedes. Gianluca had been very communicative before our meeting. He was flexible in arranging which Naples train station we would be picked up from, extending our times, and our itinerary. Our driver, Silvio, was waiting for us at the Naples Afragola station in the morning and very communicative throughout the day. He adjusted the itinerary to allow us to spend slightly more time in Positano. We fit in about 40 minutes in Ravello, 45 minutes in Positano, and about an hour in Pompeii. Skipping the town of Amalfi also seemed like a good decision compared to the other towns. The only thing that made the day less than perfect was the lunch restaurant. It had had great views with nice lemon trees, but mediocre, overpriced food with some of the worst cappuccino (5 euros each!) we had in Italy - like bad by American standards! They were slow, so it cut into our town unfortunately. Skip the stops along the way and find a better place in Ravello or Positano or just subsist on gelato instead. :) Be aware that going to Ravello (which is a great little town) and having this type of trip seems to add quite a bit of driving, but Positano traffic had eased by the time we got there, which helped. I would rather have spent longer in Positano possibly since that was really beautiful and one of the highlights of the trip. Anyway, Silvio was great and got us back to the train station on time. We had a fantastic day. The communication with Gianluca made it easy. We found Gianluca's company because they are friends with Daniela Mantice, who was recommended to us for a tour with kids and was amazing, and she knows these folks. This meant that we didn't have to do any of the coordination or itinerary updates since they communicated with each other directly! Highly recommend this type of trip!
My wife and I booked a one day tour with Private Tours on our 30th anniversary trip to Italy. I booked a similar trip as I had taken with this same company back in April with my son. This experience, like the last was outstanding. Our tour guide was Joe and his brother had my guide in my previous trip. Joe picked us up at Napoli Central railway station. Drove us to Pompeii for a tour and then drove us down to Sorrento for a late lunch. Traffic was unbelievably bad so we ended up taking surface streets down most of the coast. It was a stunning drive. Joe recommended some spots to eat in Sorrento and after a bit of shopping, delivered us back to Napoli for the train ride back to Roma. Worth every penny, and whether you get Joe as a guide or his brother Lorenzo you will be in good hands.
