Itinerary
The breath-taking sculptures in Recoleta Cemetery display the rich history of this beautiful country. Many of the most influential & controversial figures of Argentine history have their final resting place here, including its most famous first lady, Evita. Learn the secrets & stories behind the sculptures. You'll be taken to the most beautiful & often missed works in this private tour. This very historical cemetery is a ‘must see’. Note that the entrace fee of approx $15 USD IS included in the tour price.
Here you'll soon see how Buenos Aires got its nickname of ‘The Paris of South America’. This neighbourhood is home to many of the city’s most luxurious palaces, homes, cafes, & high-end shopping. We'll stroll down some of the most exclusive & beautiful streets of the city, appreciating the rich architecture, history, & charm.
360 views of historical archictectural excellence abound. Retiro train station, the British Tower, the Kavanaugh Building (the city’s first skyscraper & excellent example of ‘rationalist architecture'), the Palacios San Martin & Paz - all are within view from the Plaza named in honor of Argentina’s most celebrated hero, Jose San Martin. From here we'll take the subway - a work of art into itself - to our next destination.
The Obelisco is the centerpoint of the 9 de Julio, the widest avenue on the planet. This also happens to be the heart of Buenos Aires' version of ‘Times Square’. Buenos Aires is always listed within the top 10 cities worldwide for live theatre and here you will see that on full display, with the beautiful Teatro Colón, & numerous Broadway-esque theatres all around. We'll be walking down the Diagonal Norte, in continuous view of the Obelisque, to our next destination.
Home of the ‘Pink House’ (Argentina’s version of the ‘White House’), the national Cathedral (where Pope Francis used to work!), the Cabildo (Argentina’s first government building when it was still a Spanish colony ), plus many other exquisite & historical buildings. The Plaza de Mayo is just as interesting as it is beautiful.
In the early days of Buenos Aires, San Telmo was home to the city’s wealthiest families. A series of yellow fever epidemics led to the wealthy to move to the outskirts of the city (now Recoleta & Retiro) and San Telmo began its decadent decline. Artists & the working class soon moved into the mansions, converting the neighbourhood into what it is now beloved for: a bohemian haven for antiques, tango, cafes, bars, & restaurants, as well as the famous San Telmo Street Market held every Sunday. This is a great area for shopping, snacking, watching some street tango, & soaking in the relaxed city vibe.
Home to the country’s original port, La Boca is now most known for its colorful streets full of tango, art, & fútbol (aka soccer!). La Boca’s rich history is still very much alive in the many conventillos (tenement housing for the old port’s labor force) now converted into cafes, steakhouses, & souvenir shops. Like San Telmo, this is a wonderful area to learn about the very humble beginnings of the city, enjoy some local tastes & tango, & pick up a keepsake or 2. At the end of the tour, we'll transport you back to your abode, where you can relive all the memories we created on this remarkable day.

We booked a full day tour with Tracy and she was the best! She was personable, easy to work with (communicated several times by email before the day) and so knowledgeable about her adopted country. I appreciated the way she could weave history and current events into her presentation and give us some cultural context. She suggested a great local restaurant for lunch and spent the whole day sharing stories of her life and the culture of Buenos Aires. Her driver, Renzo helped us stay dry on a drizzly day and also took us to/from the airport. Renzo communicated with us via WhatsApp and we felt better knowing he was taking such good care of us. Tracy and Renzo are a great team who work well together with the genuine interest in sharing Buenos Aires with their guests. We now feel like we have new friends in Buenos Aires! You won't regret booking with them to have a great experience (go to the their website directly to book).
What more can I say other than an absolutely fantastic full day walking tour, followed by an evening out to Tracey’s Tango club to watch the locals dance. Tracey and her colleague Renzo are brilliant hosts with a great knowledge of Buenos Aires. It was like being shown around by long term friends. I have absolutely no problem in recommending Tracey. Avoid the big group tours and go for the much more personal experiences as offered by Tracey
Thank you so much for such a nice review! I really appreciate it! It was absolutely wonderful meeting you both & sharing this beautiful part of the world with you. Wishing you many fabulous future travels :)

First off, I would like to thank Tracy for a wonderful day. Tracy is truly gifted and knowledgeable guide. Not originally being from Argentina, Tracy was very knowledgeable of Argentina’s history and culture, and she gave a very unique prospective. From originally booking this tour, it was easy to communicate with Tracy using WhatsApp, and this helped make for a stress free day. I believe Tracy incorporated some of the most historical locations, from the Recoleta cemetery, the La Boca neighborhood, to the Pink House into a well rounded tour. If sometime in the future we return to Buenos Aires, I would not hesitate booking another tour with Tracy. Thank you Tracy for a great tour and the great local lunch you were able to arrange.
Thank you so much for such a kind & generous review - I appreciate it a lot. It was wonderful meeting you & sharing this beautiful city with you. If you are here again, I would love to see you! Until then, wishing you many fantastic future travels.
Tracy was a wonderful tour guide. We booked a private tour for 3 of us, and loved the entire experience. She was down to earth and easy to communicate with. We enjoyed her narrative and insights, especially her explanation of the tango culture (of which she is a part of). I highly recommend Tracy for those looking for a private, fully customizable tour in Buenos Aires.

Tracy was a delight! I loved our tour. Tracy is very knowledgeable about Buenos Aires and you can tell that she LOVES what she does. We learned so much about this beautiful city and thoroughly enjoyed our day together. I loved hearing her story of immigrating to Argentina and her vast knowledge of the world of Tango dancing! I highly recommend her services!
Thank you so much for such a nice review! It was so wonderful meeting you & sharing my love for the city with you. Wishing you many fantastic future travels :)
With Tracy as our guide (and her excellent driver Renzo), our full-day private tour of Buenos Aires was fabulous! We started at the fascinating historical Recoleta Cemetery, then on to the city center, the Plaza de Mayo, the Casa Rosada, Metropolitan Cathedral, plus much more. We especially enjoyed LaBoca, the colorful original city port, and San Telmo. The route and stops were tailored to our interests and pace. Along the way, Tracy shared many interesting details and fascinating stories, reflecting her immense knowledge of the customs and history of Buenos Aires. She taught us so much about local culture and opened the world of Milonga to us. Tracy is not only an outstanding guide, but a professional dancer herself, and so talented. On a separate tour on another day, we visited famous gardens of Buenos Aires, including the beautiful Japanese garden. By the time our tours were over, we felt like Tracy was not just our tour guide, but a wonderful new friend. We look forward to seeing her again as our guide when we’re back in Argentina. Oh, to be in Buenos Aires again!
It was so wonderful meeting the 2 of you - you're very special people. I loved sharing this beautiful city with you. I hope you had a wonderful cruise and I'm wishing you many fantastic future travels. When you are here again I look forward to seeing you!
Tracy gave a very comprehensive tour of the neighborhoods and sites of Buenos Aires. She arranged airport pickups for us and suggested other options for us before our tour so we did not duplicate what we saw. She used a combo of walking, private driver and subway to get to the major neighborhoods. As she is originally Canadian we had no problem understanding her and she could explain cultural differences easily to us from the US. She has been in Buenos Aires for 8 years so navigated through the city easily. The time flew by as she delved into history and culture.
Thank you so much for such a nice review!! It was so nice meeting you all & sharing this fastastic city with you! I'm wishing you all many wonderful future travels :)

We had an amazing day with Tracy on the full day walking tour. She has an incredible knowledge of the history and culture of Buenos Aires, and her passion for the city shines through. We covered a huge area but the combination of walking, a private driver and the subway made the day fly by. It was a fantastic introduction to this beautiful city, and by the end of the day we felt like we'd made a local friend. We can't recommend this tour highly enough!
