Mario our captain was amazing. The weather was horrible driving out to the island, not in his control. If you don’t speak or understand Spanish don’t go. Appeared people received priority seating. Definitely not Americans. Boat was nice but partial shade. Wear sunblock it’s a 2 hr ride across the Atlantic. Isla Palma is paradise buuuut the bathrooms were atrocious. Food was horrendous. I was literally given a slab of pork fat with one bite of meat, dry old rice and hot soup. Save your money but Mario deserves an applause.
The island very nice the great lunch but the boat transfer the worst ends up hurting your back with headache I do not recommend the agency very bad treatment
I booked this tour six weeks before arriving to Cartagena. Two days before this company cancels my tour without informing me. The only reason I found out is because I texted the tour company to confirm our reservation and they said that I did not have a tour with them. I showed them a copy of my reservation and they responded that they were sold out and if I wanted to rebook my reservation that I was going to have to pay a new amount which was $232 US dollars after I had already paid them $1,200 for the tour. DO NOT BOOK A TOUR WITH THIS COMPANY. Clear communication is essential for a positive tour experience, and this tour fell short in that area. TIPS: Bring extra cash, the tour says port fees are $30,000 COP, they charge more than that and you are forced to purchase insurance, so it's more like $40,000 COP per person. *Bring water, they sell everything on the Island, and do not allow snacks or outside drinks (other than water) because they want you to only consume there. *Lunch is served from 12:30-2pm, fish, chicken, rice, salad, soup, bread, dessert and juice is provided. You board boat for your return at 2:15pm. *Only a small fruit cup is served, and its a 2 hour boat ride to the Island. You will be starving when you arrive. They sell food there and it is expensive. Or you can starve until lunch. *Bring your own towels, none are provided. *Everyone speaks Spanish. I never heard anything translated to English. *Beach is beautiful and calm, but not worth the 5:30 am pick-up time. FYI there is no drop off service, you must arrange your own back to your hotel. *Boat ride back to Cartagena was terrible, we got waterboarded for 2 1/2 hours straight. We wore our goggles the entire ride back
I wouldn't recommend this tour if you're a tourist not fluent in Spanish. The island has poor cell service so translation applications won't be reliable. Not a single tour worker or worker at the hotel spoke english. This led to some confusion on where lunch will be served, we got lucky and the hotel let us eat with them after we didn't find out until lunch time that the tour people were eating all the way on the other end of the island. The beach is nice, but the water isn't as clear as the photos make it seem like it is. You have to compete with the hotel guests for beach furniture, there isn't really much to go around. The hotel restrooms were disgusting. Communication is kind of bad. Upon booking, got a WhatsApp message confirming the booking, great. No responses when I responded to it. Messaged the number the event posting says to after booking, got responses, great. Randomly get another message from a different number with a different agency name the day before the event asking for passport information, had to reach back out to the second number and confirm it was legit. It just all felt very uncoordinated and honestly a little sketchy. All that said, it was a decent trip. Event matches the description, fruit cup for breakfast, 2hr boat ride to the island, spend all day there, 2hrs back. It was nice relaxing on the beach with no vendors to worry about, but just understand if you get bored you're stuck there until the time to go home. It just wasn't for us, and we wouldn't book something like this again.
Beautiful place, a little far to get but very well worth it. Just wonderful. Super recommend.
The island is beautiful, preserved nature, as in the photos. Excellent service from the transfer to the island, I recommend!
Hands down the best tour during my stay. The beach is super clean, no vendors harassing you to purchase stuff, staff is kind and professional. The food is excellent! I will definitely return for this experience.
I felt like a 5 star hotel. The place is very exclusive, there are not so many people, the food is very rich and variety. I got into the sea like 3 times, the water divine and transparent. It was the best day of my vacation.
