We had a great day visiting Venice from Trieste. The city is unique and different from anywhere else. Walking through the small streets was fun and interesting. The canal ride made the experience even better.
Our guide was a fountain of knowledge, sharing stories about the Doge’s Palace and St. Mark's Square that you won't find in guidebooks.We saw all the highlights, enjoyed a wonderful gondola experience, and still had time for a delicious espresso in a hidden piazza. 5 stars!
Nice tour from Trieste. The canal ride was a great addition. It is a simple way to see the whole city in one day. Everything was clear and easy. From the bus to the boat ride, it was a stress-free day in Venice.
First time in Venice and this tour did not disappoint! Starting from Trieste made it so easy. The guide was fantastic at navigating the crowds and showing us the 'hidden' Venice.
It was very easy to find our tour guide as we left the cruise ship holding a sign with JAT on it The tour was very organized and on time. We rode in a motor coach for about 2 hours from Trieste to Venice. We then got on a water taxi to Venice. When we got there we were separated into groups of about 20 and a local guide gave us a tour of Venice for about an hour. We then had 1 1/2 hours to explore on our own , have a very nice lunch and if we wanted a gondola ride ( not included) We then met our group guide to board the water taxi and take the bus back to Trieste. Venice was beautiful and full of wonderful architecture and history.
Very organized. Good communication. We left the speaker portion of the tour early and elected to self guide after a restroom break. Guide was great but just the transportation was worth it.
No Gondola ride included. Driver got lost. Meeting points in Venice kept changing. Our group kept getting handed off to different guides who didn’t seem to care if people were missing. When I tried to contact the operator BEFORE booking to get questions answered, I got no response. I have never had trouble with tours through Viator but this one is a waste of money!

The Full Day Majestic Venice Tour with Canal Ride from Trieste was the perfect introduction to Venice, especially from the gateway cruise port of Trieste. The tour was excellent on all fronts: timely, well-staffed, and organized to make the best use of time for a one-day shore excursion. There are a lot of moving parts to make it to Venice and back to Trieste in one day but the tour staff made it happen like clockwork. First, we greatly appreciated the pre-tour communications via email and WhatsApp, which gave us pertinent info on where and when to meet and phone numbers for reaching our escort and guide. Second, the tour hosts were well-organized: (1) Marzia was at the port entrance, greeting and directing participants; (2) Michelangelo was our tour escort, handling logistics and narration on the round trip bus- and canal-ride to Venice, as well as greeting us at the assigned rendezvous point; and (3) Elena was our Venice city guide, who provided audio narration as she guided us through the labyrinth that is Venice. Each of the above individuals excelled in their respective roles. In addition, the bus appeared new and clean and was helmed by a safe driver. Given the complexities of an excursion of this type and length, we appreciated the number of support staff provided for just 21 participants, far fewer guests than typically found on a ship-sponsored excursion. Everything promised in the tour description was delivered in a timely manner, at an appropriate pace, and by knowledgeable escorts and guides. In addition, the tour afforded us a modicum of free-time in Venice. We heartily recommend this tour for first-time visitors to Venice!
The tour we did sorted out all the transport, which was massive relief. They picked us up right at the port in Trieste and move towards the city. We have great experience through out the day the city itself is so beautiful and the places were amazing and rich in cultural, historical perspective.
