Full-Day Guided Tour of Ilha de Paquetá with Pick Up
Description
Paquetá is the perfect island to find peace and tranquility. Located in the Guanabara Bay, the Ilha de Paquetá, is a great place to escape from the city for a few hours. Starting with hotel pickup, we take you to Praça XV to pickup the ferry to Paquetá. Enjoy the ferryboat ride in the Guanabara Bay and admire the city view. There are no cars in the island and to go from place to place, you must walk or rent a bicycle (available for rent on location). The tour guide will take you to the best locations in town. The beautiful colonial buildings, the green hills, the colorful fishing boats and the quiet beaches all around will conquer your heart. Around lunch time, we can stop at one of the many traditional restaurants. At the end, we take the ferryboat back to Rio and take you back to your hotel.

We take the ferry from here to go to Ilha de Paquetá.
Enjoy the 50-70min ferryboat ride in the Guanabara Bay and take your time admiring the city view.
The square was designed by the painter Pedro Bruno. It has a bust in shining bronze designed by Paulo Mazzuchelli.
The parish of Paquetá built in 1763 with a neo-gothic interior.
The square is a landmark in Paquetá. Admire the drinking fountain with the shape of a fish.
The arbor is a great place for pictures.
The park is a tribute to the Tamoyos, the native Brazilian that used to live in Paquetá.
The beach is named after the patron saint of Paquetá Island. You may find the Coreto Renato Antunes, the São Roque Chapel and the São Roque well.

If you have sometimes to kill, then this tour of Ilha de Paqueta is it. There is always some stories to hear and Monica, our tour guide, was good with it. She is very knowledgeable, punctual and friendly. Lots of walking, so put on your tennis shoes

The island was like stepping back in time. The views were beautiful and the people were all very welcoming. Monica was on time and had all we needed ready for our tour. She kind and lovely to talk to with a strong knowledge of the area. We would highly recommend visiting Paquetá. Take a bottle of water with you and insect repellant.

We recommend Paqueta Island if you are looking for an extraordinary experience. The island is unique, has many legends and is very quiet. Here you will see baobabs (one of the biggest trees, originally from Africa), various architectures, churches and many traditions. Also, there are no cars on the island, so you should have comfortable sneakers with you. Thank you Monica, for this great experience, the best guide in Brazil.

Spending a day on the island of Paqueta, was an incredible experience! The guide Mônica Bertazzolo picked us up at the hotel and from there, went giving a history lesson about Rio de Janeiro and when we arrived on the island, the class continued on the historic points of the place. We made the script on a pleasant walk through the streets of this charming island!
