Description

During this tour, you will discover the main islands of the lagoon, having plenty of time for your visit. The tour starts from Piers 1, 2 and 3 in front of Palazzo Cornoldi in Riva degli Schiavoni, 4142. Once onboard the boat, you will be heading to Murano, where the scheduled stop is 1 hour and 15 minutes. Here you will visit one of the island’s glassworks and attend a demonstration of a master glassmaker. The second stop of this day tour to the Venetian islands will be Burano with its colorful houses (stop of approx 2 hours). The last stop will be Torcello, where the Venetian civilization was born (1 hour). Today Torcello has just over 10 inhabitants, but its historical and artistic testimonies make it a very popular destination for visitors from all over the world. Last surprise: the return trip. The boat's itinerary will allow you to enjoy a splendid view of the Venetian lagoon. The tour ends where it started. Additional Option: Only Murano (1h) and Burano(3h) is available

Itinerary

60 min

Once onboard the boat, you will begin sailing heading to Murano, where you will stop for one hour and 15 minutes. Here you will have the chance to visit one of the island’s glassworks and attend a demonstration of a master glassmaker (lasting about 15 minutes). Alternatively - or to follow - you can walk to the lighthouse or opt for a visit to the iconic sights of Murano, such as the Basilica of Santi Maria and Donato, the Glass Museum and Palazzo da Mula.

120 min

The second stop of this day tour to the Venetian islands will be Burano with its colorful houses. In this hour and a half at your disposal, you can choose to visit some of the most interesting things like the leaning bell tower or the house of Bepi Suà, the Lace Museum which is housed in the historic Palazzo del Podestà of Torcello and which exhibits rare examples of this precious fabric, known and appreciated throughout the world.

60 min

The last stop will be Torcello, where the Venetian civilization was born: the first settlements date back to the 7th century when local folks sought refuge on the island to escape the Barbarians’ invasions. Today Torcello has just over 10 inhabitants but its historical and artistic testimonies make it a very popular destination for visitors from all over the world. We suggest you visit the Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, the ruins of the Baptistery of San Giovanni Evangelista, ‘Attila’s Throne" and the Devil's Bridge, today still wrapped in a mysterious legend.

Does not leave from St Mark’s square

Get what you pay for. Large boat, ten minute walk from St Mark’s, poor signage. Guide spoke five languages. Impressive, but challenging to pay attention to while waiting for your language to pop up. But it takes you to the same islands as the more expensive boats, so that’s fair.

Operator response

Hi V3439HN, Thanks for your honest review! We're glad we could get you to those beautiful islands at a great, fair price. We completely understand that listening to a guide speak five languages can be a bit of a test of patience! While it helps us keep the tour affordable and multicultural, we know it requires some extra focus. Hope you still enjoyed the islands! Best regards, The Venetoinside Team

Good for the price

Good price for the service. There is an assistant at the pier to direct you to which line you need to be in. There are two tour guides that give basic information such as when to be back to the boat. This is a very large tour and is not personalized in any way. It’s a good option to get to all of the islands without needing to figure out the public transportation system. You are on your own at each of the islands to do what you please. In Marano, they do organize a glass blowing demonstration.

So much fun! The glass blowing was so much fun to watch. The islands are beautiful, esp the colorful houses on Burano.

It was a bit too long and was too touristy; we did not have enough time on each island and it was encouraged to only shop in the main shops right by the entrance/exit

Good trip. Very enjoyable

All three islands were interesting but we certainly preferred the second and third. The guide was very informative.

Easy, peaceful tour of Venice islands

Grat way to get a taste of the 3 islands: Murano, Burano, Torcello. Brief glass blowing demo was just ling enough. We had 1 hrs to explore Murano, 2 hours to explore Burano, which was my favorite. 1 hour was not quiet long enough for Torcello. Overall, easy, peaceful day.

Worth doing if you’re not comfortable going on your own.

We went to 3 islands. Enough time to explore. We really went to see the mosaics at Torcello, which we did. Only problem, no toilet on the smaller boat to and from Torcello. Terrific tour guide on boat - Isabella
