When I booked Vision Safari and Tours for my 2-day safari, I knew I didn’t want to miss exploring Arusha while in the area! It was an easy transaction to also book a city tour with them. Initially I thought I would walk around on my own but I will tell you that I am SO glad I went with Vision instead. The transportation, personalization, and prearranged guidance made me as a solo traveler feel both special and safe with no energy spent worrying about the details.
My driver and tour guy was very nice very friendly. They told me a lot about history on. Arusha took me to some nice shopping. The place they took me for lunch was very good . Would highly recommend this tour.
My day tour of Arusha City was a delightful journey through the heart of Tanzanian culture and history. The day began at the Cultural Heritage Centre, where I immersed myself in the rich traditions and diverse cultures of Tanzania. The extensive collection of art, crafts, and artifacts provided a deep understanding of the country’s heritage and was a fantastic introduction to the day. Next, we visited Shanga House, a truly inspiring stop on the tour. Shanga House is a workshop that employs individuals with disabilities to create beautiful handmade jewelry, glassware, and textiles. Watching the artisans at work and learning about their stories was both moving and enlightening. Supporting their work by purchasing some of their stunning creations felt like a meaningful contribution. We then headed to the National History Museum, where we delved into Tanzania's past through its extensive exhibits. From prehistoric artifacts to colonial history, the museum offered a comprehensive overview of the country’s development and cultural evolution. Our next stop was the Maasai Market, a vibrant and bustling place where local artisans sell their crafts. The market was a sensory overload of colors and sounds, with an array of Maasai beadwork, carvings, and textiles on display. It was a great spot to pick up unique souvenirs and interact with local vendors. The tour concluded at the Tanzanite Experience, which provided an in-depth look at one of Tanzania’s most famous gemstones. The guided tour explained the significance of tanzanite, its mining process, and showcased an impressive collection of tanzanite jewelry. It was a fascinating end to the day, highlighting a unique aspect of Tanzania's natural wealth. Throughout the day, the guide was knowledgeable and engaging, making the tour both informative and enjoyable. Their insights into the city’s history, culture, and daily life greatly enhanced the experience. Overall, the Arusha City day tour was a well-organized exploration of the city’s cultural and historical highlights. It’s a fantastic way to experience the essence of Arusha and get a true feel for the local culture.
We were going to tour the city by ourselves before our safari with Vision, but we got a little overwhelmed so we booked this and were so thankful! Our contact, Shebbie, at Vision was able to book us in last minute which was very kind and helpful. He took great care of us our whole time in Tanzania. Above and beyond! Thomas, our guide, seemed to slide through the city as he showed us markets, the crowded bus station, and city sites. We saw things we would never find on our own. He knew everyone. So glad we did it!
Had an amazing Arusha city tour. Learned a lot and saw great things. Shanga was excellent, the Cultural Heritage was mind blowing. So much to see. Bought some Tanzanite and lunch and local beer 🍺 was great. Tour guide and driver were the best
Everything was superb, we had enough time around Arusha city with our guide kelvin and visited Arusha museum, masai Market and Arusha cultural heritage centre. The services from each place we went was amazing as they provided us with everything we wanted to know! I can highly recommend to visit these places for new experiences!
We had a fabulous day in Arusha! Shaban, our guide, was amazing and had great insight on the city. If you have a free day in Arusha and want to see the city, I definitely recommend this tour! I am a travel agent and would after this to my clients.
Regards, Mona.
Great tour of Arusha town! Make sure you ask for Shaban to be your guide if you want the best!! Shaban was very friendly, personable, fun, knowledgeable, & very flexible! He responded immediately to our inquiry & met with us the day before to introduce himself & go over the tour with us! He worked within our schedule and wants while taking us around Arusha! He showed us the different markets, clock tower, museums, including visiting the largest art gallery in Africa, Cultural Heritage Center, where they have everything from artists with ranging items for sell from a few dollars for souvenirs to thousands of dollars for paintings, sculptures, statues, etc. The maasai Curios and crafts, the market to barter for everything & anything! Shaban was an excellent guide, helping us to negotiate in getting the right price for the items buying !! Definitely, the highlight of the day was visiting Shanga gift & works next to Arusha Coffee lodge! An interactive artistic center, employing people / artists all with disabilities that create pieces, homeware, etc. like glass blowing, weaving, sewing, beading jewelry, tinga tinga painting, metal work, where you can actually sit side by side & do hands on learning to make pieces! All the workers were super friendly with huge smiles! Making a great contribution to the community! Afterwards, you can sit under the shade of a tree on the beautiful grounds & have a coffee drink, pastry, or lunch! I recommend booking a tour & make sure you ask for Shaban as your guide! Thanks again Shaban
