Unfortunately the distance are long and speed boat very uncomfortable. Paying for getting into the port is ridiculous. 10 dollars .
Really terrible rip-off of an experience. Staff were rude, party island was very crowded and dirty, one friend waited for 1.5 hours to receive her lunch, another friend was chased down and we waited 20 minutes to leave as they made her pay for her lunch a 2nd time. Islands visited weren’t as promised and none were nice. Don’t make the mistake of booking this tour!
The excursion started with our boat being broken and waiting for someone to come rescue us for about 45 minutes. We then finally got to the first island where we spent over an hour which was nice but had no beach. The next island was dirty where we ate and we spent again around an hour. The last two beaches were the most fun where we were rushed for only 30 minutes. The boat ride back was terrifying with multiple passengers screaming only giving two stars because the beaches were beautiful will never book again.
I want to start by saying José was super sweet and paid attention to our needs. However, we are very disappointed by the tour. The itinerary description is very misleading. 1) We never stopped to walk into the Fuerte de San Fernando as described, we simply stayed in the boat and listened to the guide for a few minutes talk about the history of the fortress. We were supposed to go and visit the tunnels. Did not happen. 2) Snorkeling was average. If you have snorkeled before in other parts of the Carabbeans, you’ll probably won’t be impressed. 3) Isla Grande was fine. It was pretty quiet and had two small beaches where you could swim and relax, but no party for those expecting this. 4) Cholon has absolutely no ‘relax’ spots so if you were thinking about the ‘tranquility’ and ‘serene beach’ option mentioned in the description, that is not happening. You probably don’t want to go in the brown waters to refresh either. 5-6) Baru was closed due to the storms from the few days before. We understand this is out of the tour’s control but nobody mentioned it to us before which made this even more disappointing as we took this tour specifically for Baru. All in all, half of the tour did not occur and the other spots were not as incredible as we expected. We were supposed to take this tour on Wednesday and it was canceled due to the weather conditions so we decided to extend our stay in Cartagena specifically for this, and we regret it.
It was really fun getting to know the islands, they let you do snorkeling and then visit the other islands which they all beautiful. I just wish we spent more time in each island but overall really funnn
We absolutely cannot understand the good reviews. The so-called “5-island tour” was a mere tourist rip-off for us. The tour started a full hour later than announced, but we ended up back 90 minutes earlier. So you pay for a full-day trip, but you get significantly less time than promised. Find the mistake. The islands themselves are neither particularly beautiful nor idyllic. Instead of paradise beaches, there are crowded, noisy stops where you only stay for a very short time. Recreation or real Caribbean feeling: Misrepresentation. In addition, everything is extremely overpriced on site – food, drinks cost easily three to four times as much. You are at the mercy of the vendors and are constantly approached by sellers. The entire tour looks more like a transport between sales stations where you earn money again than a real experience. Conclusion: Not recommended. Save yourself the money and prefer to visit a good beach club or a single island with quality instead of bulk.
