Plitvice Lakes is the oldest and largest national park in the Republic of Croatia
The lake system has been divided into the Upper and Lower lakes. The twelve lakes forming the Upper Lakes are: Prošćansko jezero, Ciginovac, Okrugljak, Batinovac, Veliko jezero, Malo jezero, Vir, Galovac, Milino jezero, Gradinsko jezero, Burgeti and Kozjak.
The Lower Lakes, consisting of the lakes Milanovac, Gavanovac, Kaluđerovac and Novakovića Brod, were formed in permeable limestone substrate, cut into a deep canyon with steep cliffs. The lakes end in the impressive waterfalls Sastavci, with the Korana River springing under the base of the falls.

Larry was a phenomenal tour guide. He was funny, informative and didn’t take too long when he talked. Everything he said had a mix of humour and very interesting facts. The best tour guide I’ve ever had
Beautiful region of Croatia, a must see if you like unique nature. It is a full day trip but worth it. Nice tour bus out to the national park(3.5 hrs), 4/5 hours of leisurely hiking, then same time back. Our guide Antonia was fantastic; energetic, knowledgeable, fun, and super friendly. Definitely bring water and some lunch. You can pick up some food at the bus midway stop but limited choices. Overall, strong recommendation!

It was a very pleasant walk and Antónia could not have been better. The good disposition, the humor, the sympathy and the responsibility that he demonstrated every moment made all the difference in this experience. The experience was perfect, it was a very pleasant walk and despite the sun, it was done without any difficulty. The main highlight of our visit was our guide Antonia, who from the beginning demonstrated tremendous care and contagious enthusiasm in making known his country. The whole experience of the guide made not only our visit to the park much better, but our stay in Split much more enriching.

We had a private driver and a guide for the 6 hour drive to/from Dubrovnik to Plitvice and the 4 hours walking the boardwalk of the lakes. The vehicle was comfortable, the driver was safe, and the guide was pleasantly engaging. A long day made easy by them.
