Great experience on the Santa Ana Volcano & Lake Coatepeque tour

The early morning pick-up was very well organized. They have suggested pick-up locations, but they were also very flexible and helpful in arranging a pick-up closer to my accommodation - you just have to contact them and ask. :) The bus ride there and back was comfortable, and the Santa Ana Volcano hike itself was really beautiful. The pace was good, with enough breaks for everyone, even for people who might find the hike a bit more challenging. At the top, we had around 30 minutes, which was enough time to enjoy the amazing view and take some photos. After the hike, it was only a short bus ride to a restaurant by Lake Coatepeque, where you can order lunch and even go jet skiing if you want to. Overall, it was a top experience. The group leaders were experienced, very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Cancelled tour

This tour company cancelled my tour of Santa ana volcano 4 days before the date of said tour claiming it was due to forecasted bad weather. Weather app shows good weather?? Other tours have availability on the same day. Not sure what real reason was, better to be honest though.

Operator response

Dear Mary, Thank you for your feedback. The decision to cancel was based on forecasted rain, wind, and our recent reports showing limited visibility at Santa Ana Volcano, with the view often covered by clouds. In these conditions, the weather can change quickly there with some rains at the top. We informed you several days in advance to avoid last-minute inconvenience. We would have loved to operate the hike, but we prefer to cancel rather than take you and provide a disappointing experience. Safety and quality always come first for us. We hope to welcome you in the future. Warm regards, Infini Tours Team

Super experience: good facts, good photo spots and a thousand stories about El Salvador and its nature

Thank you very much Gabriel for the super coordination, dedication and closeness of the Infini Tours team. I learned a lot about the country and felt very accompanied. Good data, good photo spots. With bird watching included and a thousand stories about El Salvador, its nature, its people, gastronomy and traditions. Excellent guide Estanley and the driver too, both very close and professional.

Great tour

Great tour with Gabriel who's an experienced and knowledgeable guide. We started the tour early which gave us more than enough time to reach the top at a comfortable pace while avoiding the heat. We took several breaks during which Gabriel would share information about the volcano and the area. We had a small group which also made it for an enjoyable experience. I suffered a fall but thanks Gabriel's quick thinking, I only had some very minor scratches which he cleaned with his first aid kit. The view from the Volcano was amazing. I did not enjoy the restaurant at the lake but maybe you will, however, the food was good.

I would highly recommend...

I would highly recommend this tour. Helen our guide was so kind and funny. Very informative. The hike it's self wasn't to demanding and worth every step to the top. We then got to have photos and videos done with a drone which was an extra nice touch. We got up and down before most people started showing up which made it feel extra special at the top. I would add this as a must do on your trip !

Great Solo Trip to Santa Ana Volcano

I did the Santa Ana Volcano Hike and Coatepeque Lake tour and Gabriel was my guide. The experience was really good. The views were amazing and the hike felt easy to follow. Gabriel knows the area very well and he is prepared with first aid, which made me feel safe the whole time. He has done this hike many times so I felt comfortable, especially as a solo traveler. I definitely recommend this tour and Gabriel.

My Hiking Experience...

My Hiking Experience It was an awesome and unforgettable conquering experience, but it definitely came with its struggles. Going up the hike, I was very short of breath, so I highly recommend bringing a hiking stick and letting your tour guide know ahead of time that you’ll need one. Don’t forget a water bottle and lots of sunscreen! For me, the most dangerous part was coming down the volcano — the loose rocks made it feel like I could twist my ankle at any moment. I even hurt my knees and was in so much pain, but thankfully my tour guide had some Icy Hot and I took some over-the-counter pain meds, which helped. Despite the challenges, the views from the top were absolutely breathtaking — something you won’t find anywhere else. Still, it was quite the struggle both going up and coming down. Honestly, I don’t know how children and elderly people manage it, because I’m in my mid-30s and I was definitely struggling! The tour guides were awesome, though — they made everyone feel comfortable and supported throughout the hike. And the visit to Lake Coatepeque afterward was the perfect way to relax and take in the beauty of the area.
