Wow, what an experience today! Such beautiful scenery and architecture with so much history. The best part of the whole day was not Dom or Moet, it was Liviu... our tour guide. So personable, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about all things Champagne. You could clearly see that he loved doing this. We will most definitely book another one of his tours in the future. If you are reading this Liviu... thanks for the awesome joke about the perfect age!
Th good part of the tour is that we had a pickup and drop off at our place. It is very overpriced and Somewhat disorganized. The tour guide is knowledgeable about champagne making and history but the same story was explained multiple times by various guides at the houses. Wish we had more visits to other champagne houses.
This was a wonderful experience. A small private tour of the beautiful champagne region. Highly recommend. You will not look at a bottle champagne the same again.
We had a really lovely day discovering the Champagne .Our guide was great very friendly, informative, and made everyone feel comfortable throughout the tour. One of our favorite parts was visiting the Charles Mignon cellar, which was beautiful and the tasting there was excellent. We also really enjoyed the immersive museum in Champagne it was a fun and interesting way to learn more about the champagne-making process. Overall it was a memorable day with great champagne, beautiful scenery, and a wonderful guide. Definitely recommend this experience if you’re visiting Paris!
Highly recommend! Exceptionally knowledgeable and professional service. The tour guide went above and beyond to ensure our experience is pleasant. Thank you!
I had a wonderful experience on the Champagne Ardenne tour. Everything was very well organized from the beginning, and the trip from Paris was comfortable and smooth. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole day interesting and enjoyable. We learned a lot about how champagne is made and the history behind it. One of the highlights was visiting Charles MIGNON. The cellar tour was very interesting, the guide explained everything clearly and made it easy to understand. The tastings were the highlight of the day! We tried different types of champagne and each one had it's own unique taste. We visited Aÿ Champagne which is such a charming and authentic sensorial immersive museum. It is perfect if you have kids. From the terrace the vineyards looked stunning and the views were something I will never forget. Another highlight was the cathedral in Reims. You can really feel the history of the place. Our guide explained that many French kings were crowned there, which made the visit even more special. The hole day was perfect. I truly recommend this tour to anyone. A big thank you to our guide Liviu, his knowledge, kindness and positive energy made the tour unforgettable.
Our tour began at Pressoria in Aÿ-Champagne, an absolute must-see. We dived deep into the region's history, climate, and unique soil formations, as well as the wine cycle and specific grape harvesting and pressing methods. The museum uses fantastic sensory and interactive technology that makes each stage of the champagne-making process engaging for all ages. We concluded the visit with a curated tasting of a Blanc de Blancs (100% Chardonnay), a Blanc de Noirs (Pinot Noir/Meunier), a Rosé, and a Ratafia. Next, we visited Maison Pommery in Reims. The scale is incredible—the cellars sit 30 meters underground, connected by 18 kilometers of chalk tunnels and a grand 116-step staircase. Seeing how they manage the 20–25 million bottles housed there was truly impressive. We would have liked to visit and taste other famous Champagne but we were told that most of the big names are closed during the low tourist season. We finished the day at the magnificent Notre-Dame de Reims Cathedral. A UNESCO World Heritage site since 1991, its stunning architecture and deep historical significance were the perfect highlights to round out the tour. While it was late, our guide wanted to make sure we would see the maximum in this tour. Nota: We really appreciated having our guide Mr. Liviu who came to pick us up at our hotel in the morning and brought us back. I would recommend though having a better sound system as he was sharing a lot of information talking in front of him when we had a bit of difficulty hearing him well in the back of the van.
Liviu from Backtrip.eu tours was amazing! Very personable and kept the tours to an intimate size so that everything could be experienced at a personal level. Looking forward to more tours with him.
