Our adventure begins with a walk through Mostar’s Old Town, where we stroll along its cobblestone streets and cross the iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge). This UNESCO World Heritage site, with its elegant arch over the emerald-green Neretva River, offers a glimpse into centuries of history and tradition. As we ascend the Via Ferrata Hum, the breathtaking panorama of the Old Town unfolds beneath us. From this unique vantage point, we see the red-roofed Ottoman houses, historic mosques, and slender minarets blending seamlessly into the rugged Herzegovinian landscape. Higher up, the Neretva River valley stretches into the distance, its turquoise waters winding through cliffs and greenery. The view captures the essence of Mostar—a stunning fusion of history, culture, and nature, best experienced from above.
At 472 meters, Hum Hill offers a thrilling climb and breathtaking views over Mostar. Our journey starts in Old Town, crossing the iconic Stari Most (Old Bridge) before reaching the Via Ferrata. The climb follows a secured iron path, making it accessible to all. As we ascend, Mostar unfolds beneath us—red-roofed Ottoman houses, minarets, and the emerald Neretva River winding through the valley. At the summit, we take a well-earned break, enjoying a cup of coffee with a 360-degree panoramic view. This was easily the highlight of my Balkan trip. Awesome experience and incredible views, and honestly one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. Big thanks to our guide Adi, super friendly, professional, helpful, and made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!!!!
Great via ferreta only like ten minutes away from town. Adi was just lovely as well, very passionate about Bosnia and climbing. Couldn’t recommended it more for anyone coming to Mostar.
My guide Adnan was extremely knowledgeable, knew the areas history very well, & offered an incredible climbing experience up to the cross overlooking Mostar. I’m an experienced climber. But this was my first via ferrata climb, & I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Bring plenty of water & be prepared to ascend the mountain & cross three wire bridges with views of Mostar & the surrounding valley.
We had an amazing experience with this via ferrata! The climb was very fun, the views of the landscape were incredible, and the guide, Omar, was awesome. Fun to talk to and very knowledgeable, taught us so much about climbing, the region, and even some local plants we saw along the way. Highly recommend!
This was the most fun tour I've ever been on. I didn't want it to end! I didn't have any climbing experience at all and Adi was a great teacher and was so patient. I felt very safe the entire time. Adi also surprised me with a million pictures he took, which he immediately sent after the tour. I highly recommend this activity. You get both a great guide and photographer!
