The Parish Church of Our Lady of Loreto is a Roman Catholic neo-gothic parish church located in the village of Għajnsielem. The foundation stone of the church was laid on September 14, 1924. The church was not completed until the mid-1970s due to a number of interruptions, mainly during WWII.

10 min

Breathtaking views of Comino, Cominotto, and the Blue Lagoon can be enjoyed from the Qala Belvedere and from the small courtyard in front of the little church known as “Il-Madonna Tal-Blat” (Saint Mary of the Rocks). This church faces the island of Comino, and legend has it that it was built so that the people of this neighbouring island could follow Holy Mass from across the sea when the weather was too rough for a priest to cross to them.

Pass by

Daħlet Qorrot is a small inlet nestled between the northern cliffs of Gozo, not far from the village of Nadur. There is a little pebbly beach, as well as a quayside and rocks on either side of the bay. The cove is used by a small number of fishermen who have turned some caves at the base of the cliffs into boat houses and storage for their fishing gear. The fishermen can often be seen mending their nets or repairing their colourful boats to keep them seaworthy.

Situated on the western side of Ramla Bay in the village of Xagħra, Calypso’s Cave is a natural cave overlooking the glorious red sands of Gozo’s finest beach. It is believed to be the cave referred to by Homer in the Odyssey. Legend has it that Gozo is Homer’s Island of Ogygia, and the cave is the one where the beautiful nymph Calypso kept Odysseus as a “prisoner of love” for seven years.

Ramla Bay, also referred to locally as “Ir-Ramla l-Ħamra” (meaning red sands), is a bay with a beach of reddish-coloured sand. Situated on the island's north-east coast, it is located between Marsalforn and San Blas bays and is renowned as one of the most stunning bays in the whole Maltese archipelago.

Ta’ Kola Windmill is a unique relic of breadmaking in Gozo; it is one of the few surviving windmills on the Maltese Islands dating from the Knights’ period. The 200-year-old building is a living testimony to our forefathers’ way of life, marked with hardships and daily struggles. The windmill, was one of the main focal points of village life, providing the villagers with flour to produce bread, the most stable and indispensable food item at the time.

The megalithic temples of Gantija have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1980. Along with the Ta’ Ħaġrat Temples and Skorba Temples in Malta, this remarkable archaeological site dates to around 3600–2500 BC. The Ġgantija temples are thought to be the second oldest free-standing structures in the world, second only to Göbekli Tepe in Turkey and predating Stonehenge in England and the Pyramids of Egypt by about 1000 years! The name “Ġgantija” is derived from the Maltese word for giant (“Ġgant”) because it was believed that the site was constructed by a race of giants. This mythical concept is understandable considering that the temples are made of massive limestone blocks measuring over five metres in length and weighing more than 50 tonnes. The entrance fee to the temples of Ġgantija is not included in the price of your package; if you wish to visit the temples, you will have some free time to do so.

Built between 1952 and 1979, this is one of Gozo’s most recognisable places of worship. Known as the Rotunda of Xewkija, this impressive church boasts the third highest unsupported dome in the world.

30 min

At the heart of the capital city of Gozo lies another majestic site: the mediaeval fortress known locally as “Iċ-Ċittadella” (The Citadel). With its distinctive skyline and imposing military architecture, this ancient, fortified structure stands out as Gozo’s major landmark, a beacon visible from all over the island. The area has been inhabited since the Bronze Age, and the site now occupied by The Citadel is believed to have been the acropolis of the Punic-Roman city of Gaulos, or Glauconis Civitas. During the mediaeval period, the acropolis was converted into a castle, which served as a refuge for Gozo’s population. A suburb began to develop outside its walls by the 15th century, and this area now forms the historic core of Victoria.

Constructed in the 16th century by the Knights of St. John, these well-preserved public washhouses are carved into a cliff near a natural spring. Featuring a simple irrigation system, they continue to provide clean water and are used by locals for laundry to this day.

Xlendi is one of the most charming and well-known locations in Gozo. It is a delightful coastal town with a gorgeous small bay surrounded by picturesque cliffs.

Admission not included10 min

Situated on the western shore of the island of Gozo, this area is a geological and ecological haven. All the various surroundings are a blend of geology, landscape, fauna, habitats, shorelines, seascapes, archaeology, flora, and history, which makes a visit to this site an experience to remember.

Admission not included20 min

Dwejra Bay is also known for its Inland Sea, a small bay surrounded by high cliffs and connected by an impressive 65-meter-long natural tunnel that opens out into the open sea, a truly fascinating natural formation that evokes awe and leaves a striking impression. Weather permitting, you will have the opportunity to take a short boat trip through the narrow tunnel and its surrounding area. This boat trip is available at a small fee payable on location (the boat trip is not included in your package price).

20 min

Heading west on the outskirts of the village of Għarb, we stop at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Blessed Virgin of Ta’ Pinu, commonly referred to as “Il-Knisja tal-Mirakli” (The Miracle Church) or simply as “Ta’ Pinu”. This spectacular basilica is one of Gozo’s most iconic landmarks. Though the building, its interior, and its surroundings are truly beautiful, it is the stories surrounding the church that are the most fascinating. Within the shrine, you will find walls covered in letters, crutches, damaged helmets etc. etc. that were offered as testimony by people who believed to have been blessed with a miracle by the grace of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Ta’ Pinu.

Pass by

"Ta' Ġordan" Lighthouse is an active lighthouse located on a hill above the village of Għasri on the northern coast of the island.

15 min

Heading north, we will enjoy a scenic route through the countryside that will take us to the Xwejni Salt Pans along the northern coast of the island. The salt pans are a transfixing landmark of vital importance, upholding an ancient trade and skill while harvesting one of Gozo’s important natural raw materials. Xwejni’s salt pans chequerboard pattern and shimmering mirrored reflective pools are always a dynamic sight to behold. Spanning several kilometres across Gozo’s northern coast, today they are divided between 3 salt farmers. Salt mining has been a tradition in Malta for centuries, and here you will find large clusters of salt pans. Hewn in the rocky coastline, these pans collect sea water during the colder and windier months of the year. While the water evaporates in the heat of the sun, the salt remains in these pans and is harvested by hand. The harvesting season stretches from April to August, with people hard at work twice weekly.

20 min

The "Wied il-Mielaħ" Window is a limestone natural arch on the north-western coast of the island of Gozo in Malta. This seaside rock formation resembling a large window is reachable through a long stairway with a guardrail.

Organized and convenient way to see Gozo.

Pickup at hotel went seemlessly. Boat transfer and jeep meet up was easy. Lunch was good. As always with tours, not enough time at some of the sights. Would be helpful for the driver to wear a mini microphone as it was hard to hear in the backseat.

Amazing experience and brilliant trip

This was such a wonderful trip and I had an amazing day! The day was long but went by fast! On arrival to the harbour we were immediately put on a boat to Gozo, no wait time at all and on arrival to Gozo our tour guides were there waiting for us with a list of names of the groups we were put into, we were put into groups of 5 and it was ideal. I was on my own so I got to meet some amazing people on this trip and this was only because we were put into such small groups we had this advantage. We covered the whole island and we also had some downtime to ourselves to shop in Victoria etc. We had an amazing tour guide, Terry, who made the day really fun. The lunch was also amazing and it was a buffet so you could go back for second helpings if you wanted. Overall I highly recommend this trip and it’s the best way to see the entire island of Gozo in one day!

An amazing adventure

We recommend this attraction, as it's an incredible adventure and a wealth of information about Gozo. We had a Polish guide and driver, whose knowledge and incredible personality captivated us, as did the incredible places we visited in Gozo.

Very enjoyable exploration of Gozo! Highly recommended! Exceptional driver/guide.

Overall, very smooth coordination of tour of multiple sites of interest on Gozo. Ferry crossing was a bit delayed, but that seemed due to heavy passenger traffic. Jeep driver/guide was excellent - knowledgeable, friendly, funny, interested in participants’ preferences regarding stops. Enjoyable crossing by small boat for return to Malta. Definitely a good way to enjoy a lot of experiences and sites on a day tour to Gozo.
