Itinerary

15 min

Your Gentleman Sider (guide/driver) will meet you with his vintage sidecar at the pickup location of your choice, or at the parking lot of the Bayeux Battle of Normandy Museum, or at the Bayeux bus station. He will help you gear up with helmets, gloves, and retro goggles before getting you settled in. There will, of course, be stops along the way to take breaks and capture photos.

15 min

AMERICAN SECTOR OPTION *This stop may be excluded if your guide estimates that there is not enough time left.* Liberated on June 8th, 1944 by the 47th Royal Marines Commando during Operation Overlord, Port-en-Bessin became, as early as June 16th, the central hub of a pipeline network of approximately 120 km designed to supply the Allied armies with fuel. By the end of August 1944, this system was expanded through Operation PLUTO, which involved laying underwater pipelines between the Isle of Wight and Querqueville near Cherbourg.

15 min

AMERICAN SECTOR OPTION *This stop may be excluded if your guide estimates that there is not enough time left.* Omaha Beach remains one of the most iconic D-Day landing sites, holding undeniable historical importance. Here, you will stand on the very sands where thousands of American soldiers bravely landed amid intense gunfire and artillery bombardment. Your guide will share moving accounts of the challenges the soldiers faced during this fierce battle. As you walk along the beach, take a moment to honor the memorials and reflect on the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought here.

15 min

AMERICAN SECTOR OPTION The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial, perched on a cliff overlooking Omaha Beach, offers a poignant and deeply moving tribute to the fallen soldiers. As you walk among the rows of white marble crosses and Stars of David, you will be filled with a profound sense of gratitude and respect for those who sacrificed their lives for freedom. Your guide will share stories about some of the individuals laid to rest here and provide meaningful insights into the significant impact of their sacrifices on the course of history. *During the low season, the cemetery closes early. Any tour starting at 4:00 PM will not be able to visit the cemetery.* *Please note that starting in 2026, the visit to the Omaha Cemetery cannot be guaranteed.*

15 min

BRITISH SECTOR OPTION Your driver will take you to Arromanches-les-Bains. It was on this beach that, during the Battle of Normandy, immediately after D-Day on June 6th, 1944, the Allies established Mulberry B, a temporary artificial harbor designed to allow the landing of heavy equipment without waiting for the capture of deep-water ports such as Le Havre or Cherbourg (Cherbourg-en-Cotentin since 2016). Although located in the center of the Gold Beach landing zone, Arromanches was spared the worst of the fighting on D-Day. To ensure the harbor could be installed and made operational as quickly as possible, the beach needed to be preserved and the surrounding communication routes kept intact. British troops therefore landed further east, between Asnelles and Ver-sur-Mer, and liberated Arromanches by land on the evening of June 6th. The harbor was put into operation on June 14th.

15 min

BRITISH SECTOR OPTION The Longues-sur-Mer battery is one of the artillery batteries of the Atlantic Wall, located in the coastal commune of Longues-sur-Mer in the Calvados region. The site consisted of four long-range 150 mm naval guns, each protected by a reinforced concrete casemate, along with various installations used to operate and defend them. Situated in the Allied Normandy landing zone, between Omaha Beach and Gold Beach, the battery was subjected to intense aerial and then naval bombardment, preventing it from fully engaging on D-Day. It was captured the following day by British troops. Listed as a Historic Monument, it is in a very good state of preservation. The site is open to visitors and has become a popular stop on tours of the D-Day landing sites.

15 min

Return to the starting point by the countryside.

Brilliant way to see the beaches

Great experience with a very knowledgeable guide. The sidecar took a lot of the walking out of visiting places.(for us the British sectors)

Educational and fun!

Amazing experience! Lots of fun riding on the sidecar motorcycle. I always felt safe. Beautiful scenery! The tour guide, Phillip, was knowledgeable and had interesting stories straight from the veterans he has come to know. The grounds are stunning and it is a stark contrast to the battles that were fought there.

Action packed 2 hour side car tour!

This tour was amazing! Our guides Remmy and John were and absolute blast! taking us around the different sights explaining what went on there- just full of knowledge about the area. Riding in the side cars was a lot of fun for the family keeping the kids interested and enjoying the views. Even though we only had a couple hours it felt like we were able to do so much. Thanks again guys!

Great ride to dday interest point

Phillip is a great guide He is very knowledgeable and he can bring you to where you want within the time limit The car ride itself already with the while as you can cruise along the coastline Phillip will point you every point of interest along the road and explain every detail about the dday I pick 2hour trip for more flexibility but I’m sure a half day trip must worth every second of it! Highly recommend

Unique way to see Omaha Beach

This was a really fun trip! Remi is a terrific guide, very knowledgeable and passionate about WW2. We gained a lot of insight and saw specific sights which we would have missed on our own. The motorcycle/sidecar experience was new for us and he made us feel very safe. He’s a very good driver and the whole experience was wonderful!

Had a blast !!!

We had the dynamic duo of Remi and Monty who were fabulous! There was a little snafu at pickup location, but that did not affect our adventure. We chose to explore Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery Normandy. Quite the adventure riding on the back of the motorbike with my hubby in the side car! My daughters loved it as well. A great 2 hours of exploring and learning more about the incredible feats that took place in this historic area. Don’t miss a chance to book with the dynamic duo! And Remi made the daughter’s heart swoon! And thanks, Remi, for the fabulous recommendation to the Bread Rolls restaurant in Bayeaux—delicious. Merci mille fois!
