Geithoorn is beautiful, but to be clear: this is ONLY transport to/from Geithoorn. (No guide, no info, no map, no recommendations, etc). When you get there, you get on a large boat with everyone from the bus. The boat captain was great - funny and interesting info. Then way too much free time in a very touristy/crowded village. Then a silent (if you’re lucky and there are no screaming kids) 2 hour bus ride back.
We're sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations, and we truly appreciate your feedback as it helps us improve our tours. We would like to clarify that our driver provides guidance and information throughout the journey and accompanies guests to and from Giethoorn. Once you arrive, the one-hour canal cruise is led by the boat captain, who shares interesting facts and stories about Giethoorn. After the cruise, guests have free time to explore the village at their own pace, take photos, enjoy lunch, and experience the charming atmosphere. At the end of the visit, our driver will meet everyone again at the bus departure point. We're sorry that this approach did not match your expectations, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us.
The bus to Giethoorn was convenient and I enjoyed exploring the village. It’s very cute and I recommend it if you have extra time but I don’t think it’s a must do activity. The bus driver gave a tour while driving there and it was ok. It could have been more animated. The boat tour guide was awful. The bus driver warned us about the way he gives tours. I think this company should stop working with him or train him on being a better tour guide. He laughed at his jokes as he said them and they were not funny, and he was hard to understand. I do recommend going on a boat tour in Giethoorn if you don’t want to drive your own boat, but it would have been a much better experience with a different driver.
The weather really made this day beautiful, however, aside from that, the guide was friendly and informative, the guide that took us on the canals was comical and informative. Let's not forget the cheese tasting, what a bonus! The place was just stunning, we had a wonderful time and I would absolutely tell people to book this trip with the company, worth it. Thank you
It was a nice experience to see a small village with so much history. The canal cruise was nice, even despite the cloudy and raining weather. There's a lot to see and admire about Giethoorn if anyone wants a short walk around a beautiful small village.
This is a nice day trip. It was very busy due to a holiday. The boat ride with captain Tom was truly an experience!!! He's quite the character. Please avoid the pizza restaurant fratellis...it was awful. Nice place to walk around and spend a few hours outside Amsterdam.
Check in meeting point, Bus driver/ride was very pleasant- detour due to motorists accident caused delay but was such nice drive and driver extended our Geithoorn experience by the 1 hour we lost. Canal tor was so nice weather started drizzle but as day went on sunshine. Good restaurants and selections, nice village.
Nice country day trip out of Amsterdam to see this fairytale canal town. The village was fun to walk around but it made for a short canal boat ride. The pilot tried to make up for this shortcoming with his humor while motoring around the open lake for an extra 15 minutes. The Fanfare' Restaurant was a fun take for lunch which showed clips of this old movie popularizing this village in 1958 to international audiences.
Great experience in Geithoorn. Both boat tour and walking around the village were amazing..Highly recommend!
It was not clear on the site if the canal cruise was included. What is included being more Clear would be good.
Wonderful little hamlet to visit. Quaint and friendly. Great day trip out of Amsterdam. Beautiful scenery. A very unique community not found elsewhere.
