Meet your guide In front of the Ratskeller restaurant, Paulsplatz 9, 60311 Frankfurt am Main, Germany
The 2-hours walking tour will start at St Paul’s Church, which is an important memorial to the start of German democracy.
Your Private Guide will provide interesting commentary on German history as you will pass the Goethe’s House and the Gutenberg Monument commemorating the Printing Revolution in Europe.
You will stroll through Frankfurt banking district to enjoy the impressive modern office towers and skyscrapers, such as the Commerzbank Tower, Tanustrum, Eurotower and Main Tower.
You will also see the historical Römerberg with its characteristic line of timber houses, the iconic 15th century Römer town hall, Old St Nicholas Church and Fountain of Justice.
You will follow the so-called “coronation route” through the narrow streets of New Frankfurt Old Town towards the Frankfurt Cathedral. Also known as the Imperial Cathedral, this amazing Gothic structure plays an important role in the general history of Frankfurt as the religious counterpart of the royal palace.
You will reach the Mainkai riverfront road and join an exclusive cruise along the Main River. You can go either downriver or upriver, depending on the time of the departure.
Upriver you will see landmarks such as the Dreikönigskirche, Main Plaza, Literature House, the industrial memorial site Ruhrorter Werft - Frankfurt-Ost and the Gerbermühle.
Downriver you will see Städel Museum, Commerzbank and University Hospital. The guide will not accompany you on a cruise but you will enjoy the informative audio guide.
You will walk past Goethe Statue on the Goetheplatz and through Goethestraße, a high-end shopping street open since 1892.
You will see one of the city’s top attractions, the Old Opera on the Opernplatz. This grand 19th century concert hall is known for its beautiful Renaissance-style architecture and detail.

- The guide does not participate in the cruise. Guide will take you to the pier, give you the tickets and shortly introduce what you will see. During the cruise you will have an audio-guide.

the tour included a two-hour private walking tour and a one-hour river cruise. The guide Jorge was extremely knowledgeable and a fun guide. Jorge covered all the key stops in the old town center, and the New-old town" center, while going into the history of Frankfurt. he was very engaging and really knew his stuff. but there was a lot to cover in a two-hour tour, and it felt rushed at the end. The river cruise was well planned out and very relaxing. overall, this was a very great (and pricey) tour combination

We had a wonderful tour with Gabi. Perfect to get a good feel for Frankfurt and Gabi gave us great insights into much of the city’s history. After 2 hours, we felt comfortable wandering through town knowing where we were going. She also pointed out lots of places to check out over our next few days here. We highly recommend!

Our guide, Brigitte, was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful. The walking tour was the right speed, and there was also time to stop for some water. The cruise was nice, although a bit short. Lots of food and drink available on the cruise.
