We have never experienced the Rose Bowl parade in person, but what we have seen on TV this is as good or better than it! We highly recommend reserving the grandstand as the parade route is full of people otherwise. Make sure to check the weather, we had cool winds and a little rain. The provided box lunch was a nice touch.
All I can say is “WOW!” This trip had it all. Extremely well organized, lots of buses and people loaded into buses and a completely covered grandstand to watch the flower parade, which was glorious, not to be missed for sure. They proved a surprisingly delicious box lunch, then at the end of the parade, when we were loaded up again into our buses, they gave us a pair of flower socks. Then off to Kuekenhof Gardens, which was so beautiful, it cannot be put into words. You could stay as long as you wanted there, with the last bus leaving at 6:30 PM. We were not rushed at all. Since we came from the United States, this trip was perfect. We would not have been able to do it without renting a car. We had no worries the entire day and were completely taken care of.
The floats are fine. But very poor food. Two plastic sandwiches and a juice cookie. Better take something to snack on. For photographers the floats are somewhat far away and in backlight.
It was an easy and efficient way to see the parade with great vantage points in the grandstands. Then direct transportation to the Keukenhof Gardens. Worth the price to have everything arranged in advance.
