Itinerary

45 min

Giotto’s Bell Tower stands beside Florence’s Cathedral and is one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Italy. Designed by Giotto di Bondone in 1334, the 84-meter-high tower is richly decorated with colorful marble, sculptural panels, and statues. Although Giotto died before its completion, the work was continued by Andrea Pisano and later by Francesco Talenti. Visitors can climb 414 steps to the top for one of the best panoramic views of Florence, including a unique perspective of Brunelleschi’s Dome. Elegant and harmonious, the tower reflects Florence’s artistic brilliance during the 14th century.

30 min

The Baptistery of San Giovanni, among Florence’s oldest monuments, stands in Piazza del Duomo opposite the Cathedral. Its octagonal design and white-green marble façade showcase Florentine Romanesque style. Inside, the golden mosaic ceiling illustrates the Last Judgment, while its bronze doors, especially Ghiberti’s “Gates of Paradise,” narrate biblical tales. Once the city’s main baptismal site, where Dante was baptized, it remains a symbol of Florence’s art and faith.

30 min

The remains of the ancient Basilica of Santa Reparata are open to the public on an archaeological trail that winds its way under the floor of the cathedral. Here you can admire precious Paleo-Christian mosaics and refined tombstones.

60 min

The Opera del Duomo Museum houses a collection of over 700 masterpieces from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, including Michelangelo's Pietà Bandini, Giotto's Madonna of All Saints, and Lorenzo Ghiberti's Gates of Paradise

60 min

The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, better known as the Florence Duomo, is the spiritual heart of the city and a masterpiece of Gothic and Renaissance architecture. Construction began in 1296 and continued for over 140 years, culminating in the iconic Brunelleschi’s Dome. The cathedral's richly decorated façade, made of white, green, and pink marble, stands out in Florence’s skyline. Inside, visitors can admire impressive frescoes, including Vasari’s Last Judgment beneath the dome. As one of the largest churches in the world, the Duomo represents the artistic and religious soul of Florence and remains a symbol of its glorious history.

Tower climb worth it!

We used this experience only for the bell tower timed ticket. No need to get there too early as you’ll just stand in line in direct sun waiting for your slot. The tower itself is amazing but the climb can be intense especially the first stretch to the first landing. After that, it’s not bad. Watch out for the 2 way traffic of people trying to go up and down at the same time. Incredible views and glad we did it, but will never do it again. After that, we didn’t feel like waiting in more lines so we looked around the outside and moved on with our day. Allot about an hour if you’re climbing the tower. Incredible views

Operator response

Dear Guest, thank you for your feedback. We are glad you enjoyed the incredible views from the bell tower and that you were pleased to have completed the visit. We also take note of your comments regarding waiting times and the climbing experience, especially during busy and sunny periods, as well as the flow of visitors on the staircase. Your feedback will be taken into consideration to help improve the overall experience. Kind regards, ACCORD Team

Beautiful View

A lot of steps but worth it for the view of the city. There are places to stop and rest along the way if you need it.

It’s great to know the resting spots along the way helped make the experience more enjoyable. We’re already looking forward to your next experience in Florence! Kind regards, ACCORD Team
