There were 4 of us n this tour and we were all very disappointed. Firstly - don't be fooled by he 'we visit several places' - it was 6 - several means to me 8 or 9. We only actually sat in one restaurant - all the rest of the 'gourmet delights?' were us standing in the street while the guide went into the restaurants & handed us the samples one by one - so on a hugely hot Florence day that was not what we had hoped for. But he worst part was the food was cheap, dull & tiny portions - stale bread with a bit of tomato paste, a bun, average pasta - nothing at all original & costing the lowest amount they could. At the very end, we got a small cup of gelato - but for £35 we learnt nothing & certainly ate nothing of any interest, - this was food that every restaurant gives you. This also certainly did not take 2.5 hours - I would say more like 1 hour. When the guide ended the tour everyone was surprised that it had been so short. So a complete con and not worth the money at all. I have done street tours in lots of cities that are excellent & take you behind the scenes, show you how things are made, sit you in the restaurants, often get chefs to talk to you & really take time & effort to show off the very vest of that city's food so you taste food that s new & interesting & you really do get your money's worth. The guides are passionate about the food & really want to impart their passion to you. - this tour as completely at the opposite end of the scale - just a quick tour with dull cheap food & you gained nothing whatsoever about Florentine cuisine. Very very disappointed.
A fun and informative food experience. Francesco was an excellent and entertaining guide! Highly recommended!
Great experience and a very knowledgeable guide. This tour was both about the great food of Florence but a lot of historical information and a guide to the city itself. Very helpful. Honestly, more food than we expected, Take this tour and it is basically free vs finding lunch in Florence.
Dila was amazing. Extremely knowledgeable and happy to answer lots of questions. Never felt like she was bored or trying to rush us. Highly recommend!
It was a very nice tour, we had a diverse group and Valeri was so cute...with the hustle and bustle of the streets it could be hard to hear her. Variety of food...cookie/sort of a port wine I would say...not to my liking, next to a yum fry bread with a thin ham and cheese sandwich, very good. Marke next for a Tuscany tasting of oils, vinegar, balsamic, etc. Best was the pasta we had next...then a small sandwich with wine...off to gelato, so good. Overall, we had a lovely time as Valeri told us history along the way. Would say yes to doing this tour.
We loved this tour with Anna! It was a perfect mix of delicious food, high level history, and stories that gave context to the food and culture of Italy. Some tours give too much detail and we get lost/bored, but not this one. We enjoyed Anna’s wit and humor. Everything was delicious, too!
Our tour guide Valeria was excellent!!! Really enjoyed the food and stories she told along the way. The stop at Rivareno Gelato was by itself worth the price of admission all by itself!!! Grazi Mille!!!
We had a wonderful time walking the streets of Florence with Valeria, a native that was born and raised in Florence. This was a fantastic mix of restaurants and street food, markets and history. We had such a wonderful experience and would absolutely do this one again.
Our tour with Marilisa (hoping I spelled that correctly — me scuzi if not!) was nothing short of extraordinary. Her depth of knowledge in both the culture of the food and the city itself was boundless and both my son and I left the tour with a sense of reverence for Florence that would not have germinated without her. Well worth the booking! She also provided great recommendations outside of the tour and we ran into other tour participants exploring her list of hotspots.
Fun tour, great guide and value! Tour guide gave lots of great recs for a fun time at the city. Give it a try!
