Fun experience with the dogs. Be aware that they shed. Very friendly dogs and Chase was very friendly too.
Excellent! Chase was not only knowledgeable but honest...this was a very enjoyable day...dogs were super friendly and ready to work/train. Amazing animals and show how smart they are. Prepared with bug spray, water and bathrooms available.
No snow? No problem! A Fairbanks dog mushing kennel offered an exceptional experience where these incredible huskies replaced sleds with a side-by-side cart, powering us through challenging forest trails with unwavering energy. The dogs were remarkably friendly, our guide Chase was filled with knowledge & intriguing stories about mushing, and the whole experience was a truly unforgettable Alaska adventure. THANK YOU!
Chase was super friendly, knowledgeable and led us thru the experience. Dogs were excited to see us, lots of interaction, enjoyed the ride too. We were introduced to each dog, learned all about Mushing, care for the dogs, they couldn't wait to get going. Harnesses on, and they were ready! Worth the time!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you had such an enjoyable experience with Chase and his amazing dogs. It’s fantastic that Chase made you feel welcomed and shared his knowledge about mushing and dog care. We’re glad you loved interacting with the dogs and that the excitement was palpable when it was time to hit the trail! Your kind words mean a lot to us, and we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience!
Chase was AWESOME!! Very knowledgeable. Amazing dog sled leader. Dogs loved him. Knows customer service.
This is a fantastic excursion. Chase is a wonderful host and so knowledgeable about Alaska, the sled dogs, and the mushing culture. His dogs are clearly loved and each one has such a unique personality, all extremely friendly. They loved being petted and being hugged. We were unsure how this experience would be without snow but it was amazing, and the dogs get a necessary workout to keep them in shape for winter. We actually want to come see Chase and his dogs again when there’s snow and the dogs are in their element. We highly recommend this excursion!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you had such a fantastic time with Chase and his pups--Chase truly is a treasure, and his passion for Alaska and his sled dogs shines through in every aspect of the adventure. We’re thrilled you enjoyed the dogs and the mushing experience even without snow—Alaskan Huskies are full of energy and require their workouts year-round! We would be delighted to welcome you back when the snow is falling and the dogs are in their element. Thank you for recommending us, and we can’t wait to see you again for another adventure! 🐾❄️
This is the only excursion that didn’t pick us up at the hotel. After hiring an Uber for $65 to take us, we arrived at a rural, rundown trailer in the middle of nowhere. Our Uber driver said that he wasn’t going to leave us there. The man who was running the excursion explained that no dogs lived on the premises and that several people shared this co-op to bring their dogs to train. He introduced us to 8 of his dogs that he had brought to the property in his truck. He hooked them up in their harnesses and attached the line to an off-road vehicle that we rode in with him as he drove behind the dogs on a dirt trail covered with tree stumps and tree roots. It was a rough, bumpy ride. It was a blessing that the Uber driver stuck around for the hour and a half that the excursion guide talked to us and drove us. We may not have gotten a ride back to Fairbanks. Of course, we paid the Uber driver for his time and ride back so this was a very expensive day for a subpar excursion.
Hi Jackie, Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your perspective and would like to clarify a few key points regarding your experience. Our tours operate out of a Mongolian yurt, and we cannot speak to the neighboring structures. It’s disheartening to see them reviewed in relation to our business. We strive to communicate clearly that we do not provide transportation, as stated on our website and in the tour descriptions. We appreciate that you reached out for confirmation, and we attempted to provide guidance through our transportation suggestions page on car rentals and shuttle services while advising against ride shares in our remote area. We’re glad that our neighbor was able to intervene with your Uber driver when he attempted to drop you off at his house. Unfortunately, we have encountered issues where Uber drivers may leave passengers stranded and thus why we advise against them. To mitigate this, we have placed clear signage on the neighboring driveway indicating that drop-offs are not permitted at the gate. This is intended to prevent such situations and to look out for your best interest, but it ultimately remains beyond our control. In the future, if your expectations do not align with what we offer prior to the tour, we recommend canceling for a full refund, as our goal is to ensure a satisfying experience for all our guests. As a small business, we genuinely appreciate every booking and strive to reflect this in our customer service. If you felt that our specific guide or the tour itself did not meet your expectations after your visit, we value that feedback, as it is something we can address, including your concerns about the trail conditions. We strive to offer an authentic dog mushing experience that involves navigating natural terrain, as dogs’ paws are not suited for pavement, and even gravel can be challenging for them. We appreciate your understanding that the trails may not always be perfectly smooth, as they reflect the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness and prioritize the health of our working dogs' paws. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your understanding.
This was an outstanding adventure. Chase is extremelely knowledgeable and experienced and made this a terrific fun learning experience. We especially appreciated how carefully he introduced all members of our family to the dogs and was sensitive to varying levels of interaction. Highly recommended.
Chase the owner is great. He loves his dogs, and they are happy pups. It was both informative and fun!
Chase, the musher, was very informative and the dogs were so much fun! The experience was interactive with the dogs which was great!
