Excellent experience. We were met by Lin, our chef & guide at our door, soon after the driver picked us all up and we headed in an ample vehicle to a local market outside the city not far from the cooking school. After seeing all the local produce, meats and fish we headed on the school where we went out back to the fields and picked herbs and vegetables for our menu. The tables were set for us to embark on the preparations of four delicious courses. It was outstanding! Highly recommend Lin and this tour!
I cannot recommend the cooking class and tour more. It was one of the highlights of my time in Ho Chi Minh. Our guide Alice was exceptional! Knowledgable, patient, friendly and had a good sense of humour. I loved learning about the wet and dry markets, collecting our produce and then cooking some delicious traditional dishes.
Excellent experience. Our guide was super customer centric. We learnt a lot about herbs and vegetables. Each dish we cooked was so tasty. We got super full on delicious shrimp, pork and veggies. A fantastic experience I would warmly recommend
I enjoyed learning how to make delicious Vietnamese food and I liked the fact that I could eat my own food. The materials and tools were well prepared and it was fun to make. It was also good to learn about the food.
Not as expected. We agreed on several dishes in advance and were offered the option of paying with cash or credit card on site. The dishes were not as expected. We made an egg coffee that had nothing to do with the original. For vegetarians, everything is cooked with "fake meat", which we personally didn't like, and it also had a really unpleasant consistency. We personally would have preferred tofu. We also couldn't pay with a credit card, which was very unpleasant in the end because we had to withdraw money again. There were four of us in the group at the beginning and after about 2 hours the room was completely full with another large group. It then became very loud and it was no longer so pleasant. We also had the feeling that our cooking class was being rushed. There were also 2 chefs with us at one point who were talking to one of us at the same time, which really spoiled the experience. In retrospect, we wouldn't do this cooking class again. You get a printout of the recipes you cooked, some of which didn't match the ingredients used in the course (fish sauce in the course and soy sauce in the recipe printout). You can also buy a recipe book on site for $10, but this is not included in the course fee. P.S. The journey takes 1.5 hours to the location and about 2 hours back because of the traffic. That wasn't obvious at the beginning either.
Hi Robert thanks you so much for reviews . we were sorry to hear that but we can not make any thing better and we are surely noone can make you happy with your personality first , you book last minutes and said we can not afford for the budget but we love to make some vietnamese dishes . As main goal to share our passionate of healthy food organic farm . so we are happy to accept your booking without making profit . because we think you can bring our helathy techiques to your family and friends secondly . we said we accept cash or credit card via Qr code . but you refuse to use QR Code that we never have any guests to do that thridly , you choose two different menus that is why we have two chefs come to support you to give you the best learning experience fourthly , you said we use fake meat not tofu for vegetarian that is not important . if you do not like fake meat just let us know we can change tofu . we not inside your belly . so we do not know what you want . it is also funny too . two big bowls of noodle soup with fake from cao lau and pho . you finish complete even you said you do not like fake meat fifthly we are one biggest cooking school from Vietnam we have over 400 restaurants over the world . so of course we are always busy . . on that day we have a chef group from Polland come up to learn traditional vietnamese cooking class . they are happy to learn .so the voice is a little loud . but you learn in school not as private house .so you should aware that . why two people join with you on that day . they are so happy to do cooking class and even come to chat with other chefs from polland . This was a great experience from beginning to end, It was very informative not just about Vietnamese cooking but also about the ingredients in the fields which go to make the food so delicious, We enjoyed the trip out to to countryside with our small group, the amazing authentic market visit, the foraging on the organic farm and then the cooking experience itself. It was simple and easy to follow and very well organised. My husband who is not a cook, was dubious before we set off but had a very enjoyable day. Thank you Alice and HCM Cooking

10/10 would definitely book again! Thanks to Linh we had a great time walking through the local market, picking our own ingredients in the garden and cooking them under nicely communicated guidance. It was great fun to prepare local dishes! Not only am I taking home a nice certificate, but also the heart warming experiences of this class!

I would 100% recommend doing this cooking class experience!! First stop of the day, our guide Aura took us to an authentic market (no tourists were there, for locals) and it was a completely different experience full of fresh fish, meat, fruits and vegetables plus more. We then arrived at the HCM cooking class place and Aura took us around the farm land to pick all the vegetables and ingredients we would need to complete the recipes which was amazing to know what we picked the ingredients and they were super fresh! We made each course with support and guidance from Aura then we were able to sit together and enjoy what we made. All the food looked and tasted incredible, so much so I had to buy the recipe book to make them again when I get home. All the staff at the cooking class were so friendly, especially Aura who was with us for the day. She was so knowledgeable, kind and was keen to get us involved in every part of the day. I would definitely recommend doing this cooking class experience to get a authentic wholesome Vietnamese experience!
Hi thanks so much for giving us great reviews . we got wonderful times with you from exploring organic farm , vietnamese cuisine with you . you are so nice , fun and have great cooking skills . we hope you spend sometimes to try our recipes from us at home Keep in Touch Best Take Care chef Tan
Before we began our cooking class, we were invited to go through the gardens and pick our ingredients. This was an amazing touch as we got to learn about the ingredients we were about to use, and it was more fun than just being told about them. The class itself was such a great introduction into Vietnamese cooking, and our guide was perfect at explaining the importance of each ingredient and how to create a balance. What I really enjoyed about this class was the fact you got to eat each course after cooking it, as opposed to cooking everything at once and eating it all together. This allowed you to appreciate each dish and the amazing flavours. Each guest has their own station and got to be involved in every step of the cook, which is not always the case. I would 100% recommend this to anyone and I’m definitely going to try these recipes at home.

This cooking class with Huy was one of the best experiences we had while visiting Vietnam! He was so knowledgeable on all the different types of fruits, vegetables, and foods not only on the farm but at the local market as well! Any fruit that we had never tried before he bought so that we could have a taste. The custard apple was our favorite!!! The cooking class was so informative and the dishes we made we delicious! The recipes were so easy, we're definitely looking forward to recreating them at home in the US! If you love cooking, this class is for you!
