I don't recommend it at all... To flee... And then a receptionsite discriminated against a client because she had a strong build. Stupid
Hello, The content of this user’s review is: "I absolutely do not recommend it… Stay away… And one of the receptionists discriminated against a client because she had a larger body size. Idiot." We booked and paid for a tour to the Ban Guoc Waterfalls in December 2024 for our trip in March 2025. Two weeks before we were supposed to go on the tour, the company contacted us to say they didn’t have enough people to complete the tour group and said we could go on a “private tour” for $130 each (2 of us). This seemed unreasonable and we asked for a refund. We were told that we needed to “cancel” our reservation through Trip Advisor in order for them to process the refund. It wasn’t until we threatened to report them to AMEX that they agreed to issue the refund. We were stuck trying to find a new tour company at an increased cost due to our now untimely booking. The bottom line is they lured us in with a low price only to jack it up when the time got close.
We had a wonderful holiday in Vietnam....went on a tour to Mekong Delta with Intrepid ...Thao was our guide....very good....then we went to Halong bay with Fantasea....which was also very good...staff on board was excellent....food was excellent....the guides were okay....their english is not so good....could be better....then lastly we had a roadtrip to Ba Be lake and Ban Cioc waterfall staying at Homestays ...an excellent trip nice local food....with good driver and excellent guide....Stewie.....we stayed in lovely friendly hotels....Elios hotel in Ho Chi Minh and Conifer Boutique hotel in Hanoi....both were excellent.....we would recommend it to all our friends...we loved Vietnam.....thanks to all involved with our trip.....Francois and Ronelle du Randt from South Africa.
The trip went very well. We learned about Vietnamese culture and the war, it was very interesting. The really great guide. We took breaks where we were able to taste local products. The driver was also very nice and courteous. The stay was full of discoveries and beautiful landscapes. Thanks a lot and see you soon. 5/5
Was definitely better than I expected. The homestays are quite comfortable despite their location (hot water, electricity, internet), the food is amazing, there's a lot of driving but the waterfall is well worth the trip. Guide was good and appreciate his commitment to learning English. I loved that tour was off the beaten path. We got to see a lot of really awesome places. It was a great tour.
Look, the scenery on this trip is unreal. I've lived in Montana half of my life now and lived in Glacier National Park for seven years. It takes a lot to get me excited about landscapes. The landscapes on this trip absolutely blew my mind. The food was ridiculous. As great as the scenery and the food where, they cannot compete with the people we met during the two homestays. Mr. Kim's homestay and village was a highlight, not just of this trip, but of all the places I've ever been. The food, the atmosphere, and the company combined to make our night at Mr. Kim's truly special. I don't want to sell anything else on this trip short. Ban Gioc is truly breath taking; Ba Be National Park is a gem. But man, Mr. Kim's place will forever hold a special place for me. I never repeat a vacation or trip, but my wife and I are looking forward to our next trip to Mr. Kim's in 2019. Ha Long Bay is one of the most beautiful places on earth, but this trip (in general) and Mr. Kim's homestay (in particular) really captured my heart.
