Itinerary
Lesendro is a peninsula and fortress on Skadar lake, located near the village Vranjina. The fortress was built in the 18th century. It is located on the peninsula that was an island until the construction of the Belgrade - Bar railway line. During the reign of Bishop Peter II Petrović-Njegoš, it served as a defense against Turkish attacks. Tour plan: Departure is from Virpazar. Cruising begins through a beautiful little channel surrounded by various plants and birds, after which we come to a bigger part of the lake. By boat we pass under the bridge which is part of the main road Podgorica – Bar. Lesendro is located just behind the bridge. Just after Lesendro, we are cruising through bird reservation and narrow channels surrounded by water lilies, reeds and water nuts, as well as cruising through river Moraca. After that you will see big and small Cakovica islands where we will make a break for swimming - we call it wild swimming. After swimming we will go back to Virpazar.

What a fantastic, relaxing boat trip with Ivona and Mitar! We got stuck in traffic so arrived late, but the team were super understanding and flexible with our start time which was much appreciated. The boat and the lake were both beautiful, saw lots of different birds and even a water snake! The swim was very refreshing but not too cold. A great way to spend a couple of hours. Thank you!
We spent a wonderful day with local hospitality on Lake Skadar and learned a lot of new things about the country and its people.
So enjoyed our private tour - photo stops and bird viewing were fabulous
It was an incredible experience, exceeded expectations, the captain was fantastic and provided us with lots of fun and knowledge, the place è incredible, very well worth it!! Super recommend!!!
Boban is the best guide and the kindest of gentlemen. It was a magnificent visit, unforgettable in a beautiful setting. Do not hesitate to book with them, they are an incredible kindness Thanks again for everything
Lake Skadar is the largest freshwater lake in the Balkans. We booked online with Victor - very easy. The meeting point description was precise. We were escorted by Ivana to our boat and Captain Boban. It was a beautiful autumn day with mild temperature, blue sky, and sunshine. Ivana spoke excellent English, but unfortunately the captain did not and Ivana did not accompany us on the boat ride. The boat was comfortable with seat pads (a nice touch) and a covered area if one wanted to be out of the sun. The engine was surprisingly quiet, which added to the enjoyment of the scenery. We saw lots of birds, but primarily cormorants. A few egrets, herons, and one pelican. We got some nice photos and videos. We also passed by an old Ottoman fortress and associated prison on a small dot of land that was previously an island and now accessible via a causeway. The captain tried to provide information, but we had trouble getting much out of it because of his limited English. Also, about 20 minutes into the tour, he lit up a cigarette. We were struck by the high proportion of Montenegrins that smoke, but, for goodness sake, this is a boat tour of a lake that is part of a national park! I asked him to extinguish the cigarette, and he did so cordially. We were disappointed by the amount of trash (mostly plastics, bottles, and the like) that were floating in the lake and collecting on the shore. Again, given that this is a national park, we were very disappointed having to look at the trash. So, overall I would say this was a worthwhile excursion at a reasonable price. It would have been much more interesting with a fluent English-speaking guide. If you go, I recommend doing your own extensive online searching ahead of time so that you won’t miss the interesting facts.
This was a very special experience and by far the best way to see the beauty and tranquility of the lake. We had booked with Olana the previous day to meet our guide, Bobo, at 07:30. She also gave us great advice about getting a national park pass that would cover our whole trip and it did save us some money. Bobo was right on time and took us to our private boat. It was very romantic and the tour was very thorough. Bobo was very knowledgeable about the lake and all the wildlife and he was also a very skilled captain of the boat. Overall it was an amazing experience and a highlight of the holiday. Olana met us off the boat and we chatted for a while. This is a very good company to do the tour with, very friendly, very knowledgeable and you get what they promise. Loved it, thank you Eagle Boat and Kayak ❤️😁
Our trip was wonderful - both owners were amazing! They even helped pick us up at the cruise port for a fee (lovely to not worry about getting there and back in time). The boat trip was relaxing and beautiful. We were able to see many birds and try a 'water nut'! There is a time to swim, we hadn't brought swimsuits...
We both enjoyed this relaxing lake tour. It was well organized, and the guides were informative throughout. We recommend it.
Peter was very kind helpful. Great experience with amazing scenes. Had great photos. The kids enjoyed it.
