Phang Nga Bay found its way onto the tourist map through its starring role in the James Bond movie starring Roger Moore as 007 & is distinctive for its sheer limestone cliffs that jut vertically out of the crystal emerald-green water. Climb aboard a boat & voyage over to James Bond Island! Discover the famous James Bond Island (Khao Phing Kan), a very high leaning rock with tiny caves, where you can find stalls selling souvenirs mostly made from beautiful shells and wood. Walk around the James Bond Island and take a photo of Koh Tapu which also known as Nail Island or Spike Island. The limestone rock is around 20 meters tall with a diameter ranging from about 4 meters at the bottom and up to 8 meters at the top. Itinerary : 09.00-09.45 Hrs. This tour was mainly spending time in the boat. It was pretty boring and James Bond Island was pretty underwhelming
My feeling is that this national park is a must see. It was one of the top 5 most beautiful places I have ever seen. Very etherial (almost like the Avatar movie). However, it was very regimented and full of other folks. However, this didn’t bother me overly much so to each their own. Additionally, this specific tour stopped at a temple which I really didn’t need. Especially since they were feeding monkeys at the temple, which I was uncomfortable with. The actual boat ride to James Bond Island, the Island, and the sea kayaking were amazingly beautiful. The Muslim fishing village was ok. Overall, my tour guide did not provide a lot of background information, her name, or seem to answer questions which was disappointing for my curiosity but not a dealbreaker since google does exist too…
