Experience Ultimate Hunza

We had wanted to visit Pakistan for years, but we always had doubts and were a bit afraid because of the political situation and everything you hear in Europe about travelling to Pakistan. In the end, we decided to go, and it turned out to be the best decision we could have made. Pakistan is an absolutely spectacular country. If you love mountains, glaciers, and lakes, it is probably the most breathtaking natural destination we have ever visited. It is the only place where you can constantly see mountains rising above 7,000 metres, and the Gilgit-Baltistan region, where we spent our time, is simply stunning. A big part of the success of this trip was thanks to the agency we contacted from Spain, Traverse Pakistan. Kashif and Hanan (the owners of the travel agency) and Razzaq (our guide) helped us enormously from the very first day to the last. They answered all our questions, helped us design our itinerary, and whenever any issue came up, they solved it quickly and efficiently. They did everything with a smile, showed incredible kindness, and always made us feel involved, making the whole journey easy and enjoyable. It was an adventure we absolutely loved, and much of that was thanks to the two of them and the entire Traverse Pakistan team, who made everything so simple for us. After 15 unforgettable days, we are heading back to Spain already looking forward to visiting Pakistan again, because it is truly a destination that is well worth experiencing

Visiting Hunza had been a long-held dream of mine, and thanks to Traverse Pakistan, the experience exceeded all my expectations. As soon as I made the booking, they contacted me and arranged my domestic flights and hotels. They responded promptly and courteously to all my questions, allowing me to feel completely at ease both before and during the trip. Every location we visited was stunning; the mountains, rivers, and lakes revealed different facets of their charm depending on the weather—whether sunny, cloudy, or rainy—allowing me to truly experience the rich natural beauty of Hunza, Pakistan. I also had the opportunity to enjoy plenty of local cuisine and fresh fruit, such as apricots. The hotels where I stayed were also wonderful, reflecting the owners' deep love for nature. All of this was thanks to my guide, Kashif, and his fantastic team, who always went above and beyond to make this trip the best it could be. He was constantly attentive to my condition and preferences, always respecting my pace and feelings. While remaining professional, he made me feel so comfortable—as if we had known each other for years—allowing me to stay relaxed throughout the entire trip. He also helped me interact with the people of Hunza.This added a special layer of depth to the trip, making it truly unforgettable. Traveling with them allowed me to touch the heart of Pakistan in every sense. It is the kind of experience one rarely encounters in a lifetime. We’ve travelled with Traverse Pakistan and the experience has exceeded our expectations. We contacted them directly from Spain to avoid going through Spanish intermediaries, and it’s been a great success. I was sad to leave Pakistan, because I enjoyed 😉 the trip so much and the hospitality provided by the Traverse team However , I will be recalling the numerous happy 😊 memories of the mountains, guides, paragliding in the cold dessert, hiking to Fairy Meadows, extremely pleasurous hotels like the Zen by the bay, experiences like the zipline, Hussien suspended bridge, the Kunjerab Pass at 4693m, and so much more.... I have been travelling with Traverse Pakistan since 2016 and I genuinely have never had a bad experience. My 8-day trip last year to Hunza and Skardu was very smoothly run, with excellent locations chosen for our stay which were off the beaten path. Our guide was very knowledgeable and professional and made our stay in Pakistan even more enjoyable. The ambience, the food, the comfort chosen for us throughout our trip made us feel super special at every moment. If you want to travel to any place in Pakistan, Traverse Pakistan is a risk-free choice for a memorable experience.

Very great experience. Traveled with my wife and everything was according to schedule. Accommodation was really nice and traverse was really cooperative. I have even recommended my friends. Was very safe and reliable.

We arranged our honeymoon trip through Traverse Pakistan. We were a little worried travelling after the recent floods and landslides, but are so glad we didn’t cancel! Traverse were really reassuring throughout. The weather ended up being amazing the entire time and we were lucky in that everything was less busy than it would have been otherwise (it was a little sad to see but I take heart in that we supported the local economy by travelling). We started off by flying from Islamabad to Skardu, spent 3 nights in Skardu, then 4 nights in Hunza, and 2 nights in Fairy Meadows. Traverse was very professional throughout: - Kashif our main contact was readily available through whatsapp and helped rearrange things at short notice (for instance we ended up having to move hotels in Hunza or travel back to Islamabad a day early) - The drivers and guides (Gulzar in Skardu and Hunza, Ahmed in Fairy Meadows, and our great driver from Fairy Meadows to Islamabad whose name I don’t know) were all super lovely and very professional, and we always felt safe even on sketchy mountain roads! - We were booked into quality hotels and given great service overall, car quality was great too (Prado style SUV for most of the trips + Corolla back to Islamabad) A few tips if like us you’re travelling from abroad (we came from the UK): - Beware of the altitude if you do any hikes! Maybe take the first day a bit easier than we did :) - It’s pretty hard to find ATMs accepting international cards (Visa/Mastercard), especially in Skardu (Hunza is a little easier but still had to try several banks), so make sure to take out enough cash ahead of time or check which do accept what (we had some luck with Alfalah Bank in Hunza iirc) - Same story with SIM cards, I had an eSIM using Jazz which was surprisingly fine for the most part in towns, but in more remote locations only SCOM worked (e.g. Fairy Meadows where there is also no wifi at the hotels!) - Personal opinion but if I were to do it again, the only thing I would change would be to skip Attabad lake and spend more time in Hunza at the Rihla All in all warmly recommended! Would definitely use Traverse again to book our next trip.
