I was the only one in the class. The instructor is not only knowleadgeable, but also very patient have you can tell he really loves his craft. Since I was just a beginner with no art background we focus on the basics and even with that I felt I accomplished my goal of getting an introduction to the art of calligraphy, and a great introduction to what the instructor call it the "shufa" or spiritual way to communicate through writing.
I had a lovely 2 hrs with San learning the basics and meaning of different calligraphy strokes. It was meditative, personal and peaceful and highlighted why it takes many years to perfect.
He very kindly taught me Vietnamese calligraphy with reliable skills. I am very satisfied with the results that exceeded my expectations. It felt great to take home the finished hanging scroll and hang it in a hotel.
