Description
First we will start with the respective pick up from the hotel in Cusco at 05:00 Hrs. Then we will head south of Cusco, to the town of Cusipata where we will have our first stop for breakfast. Then we will continue along the road to the parking lot, from where we will start the hike. Afterwards we will have a walk of 2 hours approximately until we arrive to the 7 Colors Mountain, when we arrive we will have enough time to take pictures and walk through a great part of the place. Then we will return by the same route to the parking lot to return to Cusipata where we will have lunch and then to the city of Cusco .

First, we'll pick you up from your hotel near Cusco's historic center between 4:00 and 5:00 a.m. We'll then head south of Cusco to the town of Cusipata, where we'll make our first stop for breakfast. We'll then continue along the trail to the parking lot, from where we'll begin our hike. We'll then hike for approximately 2 hours to reach Rainbow Mountain. Upon arrival, our guide will perform a Coca reading, and you'll be able to participate. We'll also provide an explanation about the site and have plenty of time to take photos and explore much of the area. We'll then return via the same route to the parking lot to return to Cusipata, where we'll have lunch and then head back to Cusco (approximate arrival time: 5:30 p.m.).

The trip to the rainbow mountains was great! Quite affordable for a day-long expedition. The vistas along the roughly two hour trip are great, and the driver was very confident. The main attraction of the rainbow mountains are stunning, though they require to be physically fit! Plenty of time is provided to enjoy the vistas up there. Breakfast and lunch are provided when going to and from the site, the buffet is satisfactory and offers unlimited coca tea. Depending on the time of the morning, there can be quite a few people queuing for the best photo spots, but overall the place is so big it doesn’t feel crowded. Francesco was a good guide, happy to provide tips for the trips and a few anecdotes along the way. Prepare some cash for site admission.
