Skip the headache and explore on your own

The pickup was incredibly disorganized. The group was 50 people and the tour guide didn't care to wait for everyone. The bus parked at the end of town and we had to walk 10 minutes to Pisa. I had the added climb the tower admission. We had to be back to the bus by 6:05 and they didn't let us in the tower until 530. When I asked if we would make it down in time, the guide said you can take the train home if you miss the bus. We had no time to explore on our own and couldn't even get food. I highly recommend doing timed tickets for the tower and/or Duomo and then explore on your own.
