Pacaya Volcano is one of Guatemala’s most active and accessible volcanoes, located about an hour south of Guatemala City. It rises to over 2,500 meters (8,200 feet) and is known for frequent lava flows, steam vents, and volcanic ash activity. Visitors can hike on hardened lava fields and sometimes see glowing lava, depending on current activity. The volcano offers dramatic views of surrounding mountains and other nearby volcanos.

It was well worth the hike, our tour guide Guy, did an excellent job, very knowledgeable. Very prepared, hats, shirts, pizza toppings, & rain gear. I will be telling everyone about my experience. Yimi who took us to Parqueo Pepe Volcan Pacaya for some pizza was absolutely amazing. The pizza was better than I expected. I highly recommend this tour

The hike up Pacaya wasn’t as challenging as we thought it would be, and completely worth it. Eating pizza cooked by the volcano’s heat at the top felt like a reward you can’t get anywhere else. Guy kept the group motivated with jokes and fascinating stories about the volcano.
