Arrifes beach is a beach located in the municipality of Albufeira, in Portugal. The beach is a small cove that is sheltered by low carved cliffs, where natural wells, arches and numerous galleries in the rocky walls are visible. Three huge cliffs dominate the horizon line.
Owing its name to the tourist resort located here, Praia de São Rafael is nestled between the cliffs, being its sand punctuated here and there by isolated rocks that also emerge in the sea and give it a very picturesque atmosphere.
Due to the different accesses from the car park, the extensive sandy beach of Praia da Galé is divided into two distinct beaches, designated according to their location - east and west. Framed by golden cliffs, Praia da Galé has several rock formations that add a picturesque tone to the landscape. Those who like water sports will find a series of options here that can be complemented with the varied entertainment in the restaurants and bars of the village, which is about 10 km from Albufeira.
Located between high cliffs, Praia da Senhora da Rocha is a small beach bathed by clear and calm waters, ideal for swimming or starting boat trips along the coast, discovering the surrounding caves. To the west, the beach is limited by a rocky point that separates it from Praia Nova, but to which it remains connected by a tunnel carved into the rock. It is on this rocky point that the charming Chapel dedicated to Nossa Senhora da Rocha, which was built in the 17th century, is located. XIV to house the image found here. Around there is a viewpoint from where you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama over the Algarve coast.
Surrounded by a high cliff carved by erosion, the beautiful Praia da Marinha is considered one of the 100 best beaches in the world, in a corner of preserved nature, almost even in the wild. Before going down to the beach, be dazzled by the landscape that you can see from the top of the cliff that gives you access and then walk down the long staircase. Your effort will be rewarded by the tranquility you will find on this beach bathed by a gentle sea.

Luis was my tour guide. He was very professional and friendly. He was very knowledgeable and engaging during the whole tour. We went to beautiful beaches with spectacular views . Luis was such a friendly guy and made the tour very enjoyable. He pointed out areas of local interest like the beaches he went to as a child and where the ex-President of Portugal lives, making jokes the entire time. He picked us up from our hotel in Albufeira and first took us to various scenic spots around the coast. He was very accommodating, letting us take a closer look at some of the cliffs and rock pools. After the cliffs, he took us to the winery where he handed us over to the tour guide for a quick visit round the production floor and cellar. Then some wine tasting which was all delicious: a white, rose`, red and dessert wine, and some bread with delicious olive oil. There was a chance to walk around the grounds of the vineyard which was very picturesque and had many art sculptures on display. Then Luis returned to take us to a few more scenic spots, before recommending the best local fish restaurant - which is extremely well hidden, so we were the only tourists there, it was packed with locals. This was an optional part of the tour, but well worth it. You have a selection of fresh fish to choose from, packed on ice next to the kitchen, and some delicious sides and desserts. They also serve steak which looked just as amazing when we saw waiters passing by with it. Overall it was a brilliant day, nice to see a more authentic side of the Algarve in contrast to the usual touristy activities. So relaxed and enjoyable.
