Enjoy Pompeii & Mt. Vesuvius: Semi-Private Tour from Positano

Great experience! We were picked up from our Airbnb in Positano and then driven to Pompeii. I have been on excursions all over Europe and this was one of the best I have ever experienced. Our tour guide, Franky, was entertaining and very knowledgeable. We learned an incredible amount of information about Pompeii and the ancient Romans. After 2 hours in Pompeii we were driven to Mount Vesuvius . The hike to the crater is about 20 minutes - it's a steep climb and make sure to bring water with you. Great views of Naples on top. We were then driven back to Positano. Highky recommended!

We had an amazing experience with Sasa as our guide. He was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the history of Pompeii to life while showing us so many hidden gems that we never would have found on our own. The entire trip was seamless from start to finish, and everything was very well organized. We also avoided all of the long lines, which made the experience so much more enjoyable and let us spend our time exploring instead of waiting. I would highly recommend Sasa to anyone visiting Pompeii! The rest of the tour was great, easy transportation and friendly driver.

My husband and I did the Pompeii tour with Mount Vesuvius visit. Our guide Sasa was wonderful! He told the story of Pompeii beautifully and I learned so much. The visit to Mt. Vesuvius was breathtaking. The caveat to these things was the extreme heat in the month of July. I read before I went that it was going to be hot, but I never could’ve imagined this level of heat. I definitely would rethink traveling to Italy in July. Obviously this has nothing to do with the quality of the tour! But just something to consider before going to Pompeii in July.

We had a terrific visit to Pompeii from Positano. Transfers to and from Positano went smoothly, and our guide at Pompeii (Frankie) was fantastic. Very funny, knowledgeable, and with a clear passion for Pompeii. Frankie helped us beat the large groups to the key locations and kept us as cool as possible on what was an incredibly hot day. It was great to see Mount Vesuvius up close, but the steep incline on a very hot day was a challenge. You certainly earn your gelato after that climb!

Angelo did a fantastic job explaining what occurred over the many years at Mount Vesuvius and Pompeii. Visiting the site was a highlight of our vacation. I would highly recommend this tour.

Our trip took a strange turn as we started off in a van with backward seats. The driver was efficient but a bit aggressive. This wasn’t an issue until we started climbing the mountain to maneuver through several turns and stops. There was six of us in the van and just about all of us got pretty bad car motion sickness. Afterwards we were dropped off at Positano and the Driver recommended us a restaurant. We quickly found out this restaurant was double the price of everything around it. We were confused because we thought this was part of the tour where Limoncello tasting was going to be conducted. We also received an hour and twenty minutes to be here as opposed to the two hours that was marketed. My wife and I could not stomach anything after being hit really bad with motion sickness and a headache. After wandering around aimlessly and returning to the van, we made our way to Pompeii. From there things took a strange turn as we finally met our tour guide. They seemed friendly and knowledgeable however, we quickly found out they lacked structure and organization. They did not have a good voice to project or fluent enough in English to explain. They struggled to keep the group together as that did not seem to be their priority. They go on tangents and would hold the group back from seeing Pompei to the fullest. Normally, I feel with a tour guide we get quite the treat with deep information however, this specific booking we felt we were held back from being able to see most of the Pompeii site. At the end of it all we met back up with our driver and asked about the limoncello testing which we found out that apparently was never going to happen because of something to do with timing on their end. This is the first time it was let known to us as our driver stated that the trip was over. We contacted TripAdvisor about this issue and they gave an empty apology and did not seem to want to assist with the inconvenience. Instead they just ask us to leave a review so here is the review. We most likely aren’t going to receive any type of refund for this sadly.

Our guide, Frankie, was very knowledgeable. He maneuvered the crowds expertly and was very friendly! Recommend!

Had the most amazing tour with our wonderful guide Frankie! He was so knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. His energy was great and kept us all engaged throughout. Would definitely recommend!

We had a great experience visiting Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. Our tour guide at Pompeii, Francesca, was an archeologist and very knowledgable. She was able to direct us to the most important locations and was able to answer every question. The drivers were very responsible and safe and the van was comfortable. My only caveat is that if you do not register for the lunch tour, be sure to bring lunch and everyone should bring water.

What a great tour! I’m so happy we booked it. The transfer to and from Positano was so easy and comfortable. Our guide Sasa at Pompeii was fantastic and our ride to Mt Vesuvius was well orchestrated. The walk up to the top is steep but was worth it. I was so impressed with how the tour was organized. Everything went like clockwork. Visiting in March was lovely.
